Following a few weeks of use, I’ve come to realise that the actual construction of the phone leaves a lot to be desired.
Suitably premium materials have been used here, such as glass on the front and back, with Gorilla Glass 5 adding some robustness to the screen. However, under close inspection I can see lots of micro-scratches on the front and plenty more on the rear.
The glass rear is incredibly slippery. I’ve lost count of the times the phone has gradually slid off what I assumed was a horizontal surface. Even the slightest angle will cause the phone to slide.
My desk at home is one of those space-saving flip-up desks, which I assume isn’t perfectly level when flipped down; the phone has fallen off it countless times. I haven’t encountered such issues with any other handset I’ve used.
Train tray tables have also posed a problem; the phone even fell off the top of a cup on which I’d casually decided to rest it without any thought.
The Xperia XZ premium is also an extreme fingerprint magnet, looking smudged and greasy practically all the time – unless you obsessively wipe it down
The edge of the phone is plastic, which is a sensible move in terms of rigidity, but it feels cheap.

The thick bezels – top and bottom – look dated now, especially next to the bezel-less Galaxy S8, and leave the Xperia XZ Premium feeling just plain boring. You’d be forgiven for not even realising that this is Sony’s latest flagship.
The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is probably one of the most uncomfortable phones I’ve held in some time, exacerbated by its large physical size. Attempt to use it one-handed, and you’ll find the corners dig into your palm awkwardly; the top of the screen will be unreachable for anyone without the largest of hands. Every time I reach into my pocket to grab the phone, my hand is met by a sharp corner

Yeah XZ premium run games well due to lower resolution 1080P and it doesn't run games at 4K unless if games support 4K or video support 4K still you can enable 4K full time through root, but performance will then laggy and phone will heat up fast. BTW I used the phone then I returned back not cause of iPhone or other phones because screen isn’t that bright and contrast not as good as LG G6 screen that has an inferior IPS to Sony but still better overall than Sony Xperia XZ screen.

The reviewer saying this "Video has always been a very strong point of Sony thanks to its optical image stabilisation" although it doesn't have optical image stabilisation. So, it is clear that the reviewer don't know sh*t about phones.

Now don't called me a fanboy for my comment. I used Samsung s6,lg g3 before and I'm always welcome to any brand mobile which I find good for me and as of all the above serve me well. But to say that j series is comparable to xzp is just insane.
Do you personally used j series and compare it with xzp. Xzp is same as s8, as my sister is using it and the only difference is the look.

Even my 5 years old lumia have this function,furthermore sony had this since earlier z series

Some "flagships" like S8 or iphone X cant do nothing more in design or software than lowend J3 or their exact chinese copies that also use fp scanners and face unlocks, shoot photos and video, some have even wireless charging, and wide 18:9 screens, and some are even better at graphics than S8 (iphone X is better at that at least)....
But this marvel phone has flagship grade graphics performance, and stuff like 960fps and 3d scanning/3d printing which none low end or chinese copy phones can copy.
Thus dont compare this marvel to those midrange "flags".

So there is nothing special about this 'Flagship' compared to low end phone, its only about number.

This phone overheats while on the charger. Browsed through several phones in a shop recently and only this felt warm. I still don't trust sony because almost all the products I've used overheat, including cameras and mobile phones.

The design is not special, plastic like low end phone, giant bezels like low end phone. Experians UI... Oops.. Launcher.. only launcher. We cant call it UI. Its too standard, flagship should have better software features than low end phone. But there is nothing this phone can do low end phone cant do.
eXperian with Stock android will only attract kids who love playstation and want to buy phone for the first time. Like i was. Then they will regret.

3d scanning and 960 slomo is pointless? Apple is now working on AR and 3d sensor while sony already have it,samsung also working on 1000fps slowmo to catchup with sony.so how you gonna tell about that? Oh wait i know,they will say " they will make better that sony" lol...
