having owned this phone for a while. i am loving it. the phone is awesome. the battery is amazing. 2 full days out of it. with my bluetooth smartwatch connected.
The only niggles i have is the camera is ok. and the ringtones are not very loud. but this due to waterproofing.
The camera is ok. not on par with S4

Firstly update your phone to 4.2.2 via Sony PC software(connect your phone to pc and update)
The answer on your question is YES you can update Xperia Z, but there is only custom ROM for Xperia Z. Official android 4.4 KitKat Sony will release in the middle of December so I suggest you to wait for the update. I'll also wait for the official update and won't install the custom ROM.
I feel excited for android 4.4 for XZ.

I have this phone last two month I have loaded apps like anything still don't have any lags battery backup is good now I installed 64GB card now I captured photos & video all are working just great super phone Sony Xperia Rocks
