I have one in my android phone collection, and this phone is just ahead of its time, having a size very similar to Our iPhone 14, the fun camera apps are system, and speaking of the camera, i really like the camera system

    The best smartphone i have ever owned, despite 2 gb of ram, this phone never lags, it's always smooth. I owned several phones after this phone and the experience is never the same like it's with the Sony Z1... From galaxy s5, note 3, galaxy s6 and galaxy s8, galaxy j7 2017 pro xiaomi and infinix... All these phones slowed down and became pain in the butt to use...

    Not to mention the camera, on Xperia Z1, the camera is even better than the crap 50mpx, 64mpx, and 108mpx in these modern chinese phones.

    I only wish if this phone could have more ram. Multitasking isn't really great, especially that updated apps use more ram than older versions from 2013...2015 or so era

      Loved my Z1. Had it for almost 5 years now without fault. Casing is badly dented and scratched through drops and scrapes, and only broke my first screen a few weeks back. But, sod paying over £1,500 for a new one! Sony - you've over reached on price this time - I'm looking elsewhere!

        mine is not running TWRP, I'm rooted in lolipop 5.1. Does anyone have any ideas?

          Firstly you need to flash ROM then modem file and then gapps.
          Modem file you can find in Los 17.1 thread on XDA website

                I just changed my battery.My Z1 still run very well.

                  Rooted mine and also has twrp and Android 10 based lineage OS 17.1 on it, runs so good now like it used to on android 4, will used it as an MP3 though now

                                        I jave upgraded to j7 2016, a5 2017.. and i am always finding myself to miss this phone, finally i have decided to hunt for a xperia z2 , improved version of my old beloved z1 with ips display and 3 gb ram, the only 2 points where the z1 lacked.

                                        I am very happu with z2, good battery life and very fast snapdragon 801. Pubg and other games run much faster than on the samsungs 7870 slow chipset
