hey guys so i've been wanting to change my phone for a while and initially i thought to get the nexus 5 but i later changed my mind and im thinking of getting the z1 compact now, my issue is with people reviews of the z1 compact a lot of people have made complaints about the device especially after they get the latest update. Should i stick to the nexus 5?

my phone shows new software update 4.4.4 from last 2 days...but i already have 4.4.4 installed on my phone...and it says u need a PC to update it....i dont know why it shows update even when i have already installed it....is anyone facing the same problem....please help help

Nani, 09 Aug 2014I have Xperia Z1 and am facing problem with low volume. Thi... moreTry to reinstall the latest sw. I have had issues with contact app, the signal kept falling so i did "repair my phone" from pc companion and everything is ok now. You have to do a back up before this.

I have Xperia Z1 and am facing problem with low volume. This becomes even more difficult when we are in traffic or some busy area. Moreover this phone gets heated up when I am browsing the net and also the battery drains very fast. If i use internet for half a day my battery charging gets finished by that time.
Kindly suggets what i have to do? should i go to my nearest Sony showroom? I stay in Secunderabad, Alwal.

Me one of the Z1 user,
Z1 have leaking current sound on the phone. But not much people will hear the sound, second user just hear the sound while answering phone but most children will hear. No need send to Sony service centre. waste time they have no solution or you just can sell it.
Just use for first month device hang then reboot few times but apps not much because want try maintain 800MB RAM.
If compare with Z2， Z1 is failure phone. Too many noise on front camera.

Even bought a new battery and had it put in and it still wont charge. Try many cables and chargers nothing works. Plus cant do a restore-update through pc companion cause you need at lease 50% battery. What a joke. I guess ill have to send it in.

I bought my Z1 last year i.e. 2013, August. Till now it was working fine but after updating it to Kitkat 4.4.4 i have seen a change in the sound quality which has gone too low. Also, i am now experiencing a buzzzzzing sound even when i am using the keyboard to type messages, using what'sapp, viber, line or any other app that needs typing. This buzzing sound is very irritating. Whenever i am receiving messages or calls even though i have checked out all the sound options in sound settings the phone is producing a irritating kich kich and buzzing sound. I don't know what this issue is because previously it was working totally fine. Is there anyone out who is experiencing the same sort of problem? Please do let me know the reason and fix for this kind of problem if possible.
Major issue is with the wifi signals after updating to the latest firmware kitkat 4.4.4. The signals are dropping again and again.
Also, the battery consumption has gone high. The battery is discharging at an alarming rate. It dosen't last for even a day. Regularly have to recharge it after 6-7 hours.
Another issue is that the phone does not have the option to save or install the applications to the sdcard. You can't do rooting. Sony should fix this issue with this phone in coming updates.
Most of the time if i try to connect to servers to update my phone online they say can't connect to the servers.
Inspite of these problems my phone is perfectly fine. The best one i have ever purchased. I must say sony rocks ;).

AC007, 07 Aug 2014On a scale of 1-10 how good is this phone and should i buy it?I wud rank it at 9. It is a beautiful phone with excellent specs and a top class camera upgradable to Kikat 4.4.4 . It is value for money in the price category.
