Bt ur point also correct, it u make colours look more vibrant u may feel as if blacks r good, bt hv u checked it after update,, one more thing i c is that now x reality ingine wen on doesnt over sharpen the images, now images look smooth even wen x reality ingine turned on, to me camera qlso looked improved just a little, n i also noticed that brightness is decreased a little may b thats why i cmore black, what abt screen show buble or wave like iffect wen pressing side panel from side or presing volume keys, iffect show on screen near pressing point, like u press from any side og panel right or left, area near where u pressing the panel show wave or bubble like iffect, it not noticeable wen seeing screen front on but if u see from opposite angle u will c some thing going on on area near panel u pressing, wat it is i dont know, now Z2 launched n Samsung S5 looks nothing in front of Z2. Now best phone in market is Z2, they hv improved Z2 screen n now it is IPS panel, best phone, S5 so cheap looking n no improvement over resolution, same full hd, camera 16mp, Z2 is best now

However it is possible to brighten up other colors by tuning them slightly brighter (though that is not only good as it can and will affect dynamic range). By making bright colors brighter one get the illusion of a higher contrast and that can by users easily be interpreted as deeper blacks, the eyes sensitivity to the blacks (or dark grey as it actually is in the case of all LCD panels) are reduced if they are bombarded with slightly more photons from other colors, since the black on a LCD emits far fewer photons (ideally it would emit none) and these few photons are further reduced by the pupil contraction due to the increased amounts of photons from other colors.

Best phone ever!!! You wont go wrong. Some people have negative reviews but don't let it put you off. There's negative reviews about each and every phone. I love my Xperia Z1 even though i don't have it for long. After my husband and my bro-in-law saw my phone, they also want it!!!

What happened here is that this update for some reason doesn't activate the equalizer when playing sounds in YouTube or in any other apps. But the equalizer will still work as it should, but in Walkman only. This includes equalizer settings such as xLOUD, Clear phase and ClearAudio+. I assume you use xLOUD which explains the low volume after the update. There seems to be no way to solve this issue except for rolling back the software which i don't know how to do.Just have to hope Sony fixes this in the 4.4 update.

Important :this is to tell some new things about Z1 after new firmware update version 14.2.A.1.136 1st i updated thru pc companion n it took me nearly 2 hours, after update my scree look more colourful, blacks r more black,2nd white balance is there to help, i put blue colour adjuster at 52 n red n green on zero,But sound volume i think is decreased after update, YouTube video sound very low even at 100%,one thing more i noticed. Wen i press volume key i see some layers on screen like water waves i checked from other side by pressing side panel from usb side panel n i c same layery effect on screen, i dont know if lts screen issue or smthing to do with update, please tell me abt this if u hv same issue,phone working good, camera improved little, bt best is screen, its more vibrant now blacks more black

Hands down the best looking smartphone ever! The bezel makes it more comfortable to hold the phone in landscape mode. The only drawback is that this phone can get really hot, thus make it practically unusable. If that happens, I simply wash it under the nearest faucet. Which is something I can't do with my Note 3 when it gets really hot. Sorry for my bad English though...
