I love this phone. I got it just over a month ago and my Xperience :P with it has been dream-like. I can find almost no fault with it. My only issues is that it is a fingerprint magnet, it does get very hot but that is to be expected (it is made of glass after all. What did you expect?) I can't see why everyone goes for a Samsung these days when phones like the Z1 exist. I held and used a S4 and the S4 just felt way too lite and cheap, as opposed to the aluminum and glass Z1. The UI Samsung uses is awful. They ruined the look and feel of Android. The UI of the Z1 is lite and is more akin to stock Android, but with a change in colour and some slight yet pleasant design tweaks. For all the people who don't like this phone or have problems with it, there are 2 possible reasons why. Either the phone is faulty, or you are an idiot who doesn't know how to use the phone properly and must get a Samsung just like everyone else. Also, I'm a power user and I have rooted and hacked more than 10 Android devices, just as a hobby. I know almost everything about Android and how it works, and the Z1 is the best Android device I have ever used. I didn't even need to root it right away, that is how good it is. I'm rooted now though :P

pdw, 03 Feb 2014i am researching about this phone, saw over the net about s... moreI dropped mine about a dozen times before the screen cracked. My advice is to get a decent cover for it. The reason for my drops is primarily because of the glass back which makes it really slippery both to hold to as well as say, putting on one's lap for a minute. A case should resolve this. I find the phone quite good once the OS is up to 4.3 or higher. I'm looking to see whether I can repair the phone, although I've already got another phone that I'm using now.

worst phone I ever used.I hate the over heat of this phone.I think the easiest way to cooldown this phone is putting this in to cold water cuz it's water resistant.I think water resistant is a trick used by sony to prevent z1's over heating.very smart...don't buy this shit...

when i taken 10 to 15 photos at a time my z1 becames fullyy heating it taken 15 mins to cool..,,i am not satisfying with my z1 mobile

Just updated my z1 and noticed that the equalizer no longer works outside of walkman. So this resulted in crappy speaker sound for youtube and all other apps that is not walkman. Has anybody else that installed the most recent firmware update experience this issue?

AnonD-230014, 03 Feb 2014ahh thankz..so it is normal in z1??..i thought it is factor... moreSeveral online tech sources has said that the Xperia flagships of old, ie Z, ZL, Z Ultra and Z1, are all using somewhat old display tech and to compensate for that they had to crank up the backlight, which is the number one battery drainer on smartphones. Hopefully Z1 was the last Xperia flagship with this kind of display, also the midrange phablet Xperia T2 Ultra is confirmed to sport a new IPS display.

AnonD-230014, 03 Feb 2014how long is your battery life dude?mine is also poor awwIts the display that consumes too much power and there is no way to fix that. You just have to wait for Sirius and hope it carries the same display tech as Sony is using in Z1 Compact. Or get Z1 Compact instead if you can live with the smaller display and lower PPI, just try to sell your Z1 before Sirius comes along and makes it worthless.

rocky, 02 Feb 2014Sony z1 camera clarity is o-plus(zero) very poor, Below ave... moreif you having an issue with the camera then you have an issue on how you using the phone camera I have taken very nice shot s with the z1 even in the dark it doesn't disappoint. maybe you need to update your phone.

Or they are equal?The price difference is big, all in all Z give you more bang for the buck, it has excellent performance, great call and standby times and similar battery performance on web browsing despite the smaller battery, which brings us to another advantage of Z and that is size and weight, its smaller, lighter and slimmer than Z1, and it has a good enough camera. Even if the prices were similar i would choose Z over Z1 any day, lucky i dont have to choose because im getting the Z1 Compact, twice the battery life of both these in webbrowsing/texting/chatting.

Devin, 31 Jan 2014Oh guys this is a warning...I bought z1 2 months ago.now I'... moreWhen you open the sim flap, u can see a small red color button which is a reset button. You need to press that and your phone will restart. No need to wait until the battery is dead.

Guys...help...I'm going to buy this phone Sony Xperia Z1, but...Does it have any issues with the water resistance? Can water damage the phone when submerge into fresh water?
