It is fast read and write so you can get better quality image and smooth full HD video recording. If you have MicroSD HC only you can put full HD movie on it to play not like with the XC you can put full hd movies and record full hd movies.
research about the micro sd XC they have more version ultra runs 30mbs, xtreme 40mbps, xtreme plus 80mbps, check sandisk. I bought sandisk for my xperia z1. It is fast.

guys if you really wanted to experience the best with your xperia z1 buy fast micro sd xc you definitely experience the best of its camera. Before i dont like the image quality but when i purchased micro sd XC I got the best image quality plus full HD video recording in an awesome quality. Try it and you probably like the result.

I guess there's a mistake in talk time specification...15h 3G and that's probably correct, but only 13h 50min 2G seems wrong, isn't it?

Yes, 12gigs is more than enough! Have 6,4GB free space right now. And more apps than actually needed and used.
I had LG L9 with !2,3GB! internal memory before and I survived.

Guys one thing, I did not regret purchasing this phone as I did for the iPhone 5.
1) awesome battery life
2) Lcd quality perfect
3) no lag
4) plenty of features

In truth I could uninstall most of mine but haven't done so as I do have an issue with memory!
