Xperia Z has a nice side bezel side that is sufficient in size to avoid accidental touches. Top bezel of Z is also OK size, bottom could have had a millimeter or two shaved off.
But Z1, why oh why so extreme width and length? Its turn off, it doesn't have any of the beauty that made Xperia Z the looker it is. I think in 18 months from now we will remember Xperia Z and not Z1, the Z still stands as the best Xperia ever made (relative to its time of launch), it was the phone where they did it right, the Z1 builds on that without offering anything revolutionary (especially not in design or build or display and the like), Z1 actually just takes the Xperia Z design and degrades it.
What is the best phone today? Not all would say Xperia Z1. What was the best phone in March 2013? Its hard to deny it was the Xperia Z, it stood unchallenged at its time, the Z1 did/does not. Disappointed.

I chose the Z1 because it's smaller and feels more like a flagship phone (not made with plastic). Also I thought I don't really need all the Samsung apps and the S-Pen features and would rather have a waterproof phone with a great camera. Again, see which phone will cater your needs.

However, the Z1 has the latest hardware (chipset, cpu etc.) compared to the HTC One. Z1 has a better camera too overall, though htc one is better at shooting low light. Also, the Z1 has expandable memory and waterproof. So clearly, its more practical to get the Z1. You have to get used to the bigger size of Z1 though, which isn't too hard coz it's relatively easy to hold (curved edges).

I think that yo... morefor those who are asking about the yellowish tint, purple tint..whatsoever about the display..just go to the display setting and look for white balance..you can change it to different tint..i mean you can adjust the color of the screen.in my case i change it everytime im bored with the hue..right now im using bluish tint..coz i want a cold looking display..

I've had my z1 for about a month and its fantastic. A few times the screen blacked out but all is fine after a hard reset. Pictures are great and the phone never dies. It feels big at first but you get accustomed to the size after a while. Dropped it twice without any scratches. Best phone I've had

I absolutely hate this phone! bought it a week ago- camera takes yellow pictures,the screen on the brightest level is dim, my usb port protector has fallen off within a week! So its no longer waterproof. I am furious!!!!!!! I want my iphone back!!! :'(

best of sony is always the best and unbeatable.Except the height and width.

I am using Soni Experia Z1 for last one month.
I will start with Great things and then things that I don't like about this phone.
Great things:
1. Wonderful touch experience
2. Fast processors and great experience with application speed
3. OS is good, Upgrades works without hick ups
4. Good battery life
5. Low light camera performance is good
6. Image stabilization work well
7. 21.7 mega pix cam can give great details while zooming (only for pictures taken in good light)
Things I did not like:
1. Phone display went blank after receiving a call, kept heating up till I have opened the back panel and removed batteries. Back panel is made of acrylic kind of material which will break off very quickly when you open the back panel
2. Water proofing comes off once you open the back panel and your phone is not water proof for rest of its life.
3. When I put the phone on speaker, microphone goes mute.
Over experience is good, unless you come across the issues that I have faced.
Recommendation:
At this price range there are better phone available.

Just got this phone 2 days ago, got this for the camera, I like the time-shift burst and the augmented reality features. Even though it's water resistant it says in the manual that it's not for salt water ):
Still haven't decided on what games and apps to install yet. Looking for suggestions.

I went to sony showroom,I was told that xperia mobiles having mobile bravia-2 are going to have very exceptional display quality and this thing is available in their z,zl,zr and sp models. The z1 is not having mb-2 and hence one cannot expect screen quality like ZL. Readers of the review may please comment as I am going to have one mobile for myself and I have not decided which xperia to have

Just picked up Sony z1 41k India Mumbai, loving it fast no heating issues not a big gaming person but I use to browse social network. A lot like Bbm fb, tweet, instragram... What's app No problem battery life is good cam Ok expected more but worth it over 30 modes to play with.. Best part I for diwali I was given oem Sony flip case wireless charger, screen gard front n back and a 64gb sd card!!! Worth over 7k

sanfoor, 03 Nov 2013how is the battery life? is it good or like the old sony phones?Battery life is great and should get you through the day. My z1 took 12 hours for the battery to drop to 12%.
