And only 13mpix. But its enough for G2 to beat neanderthal sensor tech Nokia is using. 1/1.5 inch size doesnt matter when the technology is 2 generations behind Sony sensors. Makes sense too, a 1 meter sensor made in 1990 would not stand up to the 1 inch sensors from Sony in 2013.

I assume the 5S will use Exmor RS 13mpix sensor and a high quality lens (Zeiss maybe) but no OIS so G2 should be able to beat it.

and galaxy s2 camera is powerful enough to beat any sony's 8 mpx camera!

AnonD-74483, 09 Sep 2013true story budDepends if Sony will sell it to them anytime soon, Sony dont have unlimited production capabilities, if they were going to sell this super sensor to others the price will be high.
Now of course the Koreans could buy sensors elsewhere but then they end up like Nokia and HTC, with mediocre quality, Sony Exmor RS is 2 generations ahead in sensor tech, and Sony always been, its no secret that iphone and S3 cams were good at their time because of the Sony sensors, and Lg G2 and S4 are good today for the same reason.
And finally, of course its not only the sensor, but also the precision grinding in the aspheric G-lens, thats also something that cant be done by just any manufacturer, and certainly not by any Korean company, they need to buy that part as well. While Sony does this in-house, in March 2014 there is already a Sony Xperia camphone better than this.

Well XZ1 is already smoking Lumia 1020 in camera shot comparison, so I think u sony haters better have a good reason to be here. There's absolutely no flaw in this device. NONE! Long live sony.

its dropdown menu aka notificatio ... morei was hoping less trollers this time..because the main problems with xperia z were camera,screen viewing angles and feeble loud speaker.and all these are solved by sony in xperia Z1 with triluminous lcd display( very similar lcd 3 of htc one),bigger 1/2.3" cybershot G lens camera with Bionz image chip without compromising the thickness of device.Camera of Z1 is made sony camera division for best output.and it has already shown its power against 1020.Both phones have best camera. and thier are stereo speakers(dual) in Z1. moreover there is no flap on audio jack, very nice step by sony. and how can we forget about the bigger 3000 mah battery.
and people say, when others are jealous on you, it means you are growing... Sony is best.

its dropdown menu aka notificatio bar doesnt hv much options!
mediocre camera
low sound output and in call speaker output is too low!
waterproof but still some are saying that there phn get damaged by water even there all flaps r closed!
wifi direct is for name only!
poor veiwing angles of screen!
wifi is short ranged!
even micromax doesnt hv these all prblms except camera!
thats why htc samsung and lg r king in the smartphone market!
sony phns r hving gud luks only!
but lumias and htc one and lg gr r also gud luking phns with best cameras out there!
sorry for sony fanboys who r paid by sony!
but yep sony has to learn a lot atleast they can improve there ui like sense or touchwiz!
