I never said I sat in my Sony Z1. I wouldn't recommend sitting on either the Z1 or this Z1 compact. In Hong Kong I walk with my phone in my back pocket. When I get a seat on the train I take it out of my pocket & surf. When I sit at a restaurant I take it out of my pocket and put it on the table. I was so sad when my Sony Z1 failed with such light pressure on the glass and it looks like this Z1 compact has the same frame and glued glass construction. Does the Z1 compact have the same clear tape over the glass as the Z1. That tape scratched really easily an so did the sheet protector. My Note 3 has a beautiful scratch free screen even without a screen protector but is not waterproof.

One oem make 4.3" phone then you'll be asking for a 4", while one would ask for 5". Then here comes the 5", another one would ask for 4.5". Please, there are plenty of phone size available for each oem, try trolling there.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2014Hard to tell who is the troll, the grammarnazi or the one w... moreThe xperia V rested fine in my back pocket and was designed for the purpose with an ergnomically curved plastic back. The xperia Z1 compact is the same size and with the same display as the xperia V. I think however, that its square frame with thin glass glued on front and back will make it unsuitable for placing it in trouser pockets. I had hoped that Sony would offer a more premium waterproof phone like the xperia GO with higher specs and the same size and durability as the waterproof Xperia V. I think however, that they need a more durable frame than that found on the Sony xperia z1 compact.

A troll by definition is someone who makes a post to divert attention from the issue being discussed.

I had hoped the Z1 & Z1s would be as durable the Sony Expedia GO, and Sony Expedia V which I carried in my back pocket for months with no problem. I'm a customer in need of the latest waterproof phone. The Z series frame phone failed me and I lost a lot of money. I believe in improving rather than defending products which fall short of expectactions. Are you a Sony employee?

If Sony advertizes a dog carrying an expedia GO in it's mouth, surely they can make a phone that can be carried In my blue jean's pocket. I saw a lot of warnings on Z1 devices about keeping the waterproof flaps closed, but no warnings about putting it in the back blue jeans pocket like many people carry their I-phones. Sony's Z1, Z1f & Z1s, (Z1 mini) can be damaged permanently if the frame or glass is stressed.

Not taking the chance on the z1s. My z1 was great for 2 months. Display scrambled & sony service didn't fix it. Pressing on the thin clear tape covered display by putting it in your back pocket can ruin these type phones. Last device I had with scratch resistant glass was a timex watch back in 1967. This phone needs a titanium back & gorilla glass front for the price they ask.
