Modern battery systems especially with lithium batteries have moved on so much that the problems that this was designed to handle belong in the past. Manufacturers used to state this advice in manuals but no longer do.
What affects battery life more than the specific charge discharge cycle is their overall usage.
This has been debunked so any times, I'd suggest using Google for the details and in the meantime use it as you see fit.

brilliant phone, first phone I have ever got from sony and it is fantastic. the one downside if you got the black one like I do it smudges very easily and gets scratched quite easily as well but apart from that the best phone I have ever had.

z type are good phones including Z1comp.... but the font is too small.. even choose extra large
this is like Z Ultra i've already sold because the font is to small.. i don't have " EAGLE EYE " to see small words... pity,
if no update for this font... must be sold again....sorry,
but my Z2 is quite big font, soo no problem.
update for double knock on is a must for Z1 comp.. too

Try to always charge at 40%, and if you want to invest more time in it then also try to stop at 80% full.
Whats the point in big battery if charging only to 80% some say? Well, a battery that has been used for 3 months and always been drained empty and then charged full has already LESS THAN 80% capacity when 100% full, thats how much it has degraded already, if you had stayed between 40 and 80% since the phone was new then no degradation and your battery would have stayed at 80% for at least a year. 100% full usually means 4.35 volts, thats way too high and very damaging for li-ion and li-po batteries, DONT DO IT if you want too keep your phone for a year or more.
Batteries which are always discharged to 0% and charged to 100% can lose more than half of their capacity in 200 days. I know its impractical to not charge full, but anyone can use the easier method and always charge a little when it reaches 40%, it helps a significant amount too even if you always charge it to 100%.
Finally, dont listen to people who say "thats a lie coz i always charge full and my old Sony Ericsson/Nokia/whatever has still good battery after 3-4 years". Thats because batteries werent charged to nearly as high voltage as 4.35 volts 4 years ago, and they werent discharged as deep as todays phone batteries, they had much higher remaining voltage when the phone reported Battery Low.

I have use this Z1C(white) for 2 month already and here are the condition and complaints:
1) I accidentally drop the phone to the road from exiting the car(sedan, sit height)(corner of the phone) and only dented the aluminium frame. Glass and plastic surface untouch.
2) Charging time to fully charge it is random. Sometime it took from 24% to 100% took 3 hour and more(Android 4.4.2). Normally is 2 hour from 15% to 100% from the first day I bought it.(Android 4.3)
3) Flash bleed is really seldom to happen. But it's frustrate me when a time I want to capture a split second scene, the flash bleed happen.:'(
4) The plastic back panel scratch to easy even just putting the phone on a glass table. My Z1C already have 1 long scratch, 2 deep scratch(short) and many common scratches(short). I won't be worried to see this scratches because its invincible to my sight as my phone is white.
5) The Z1C body become slippery when its body is very cold and I always slip the phone and drop it on my leg. Ouch
6) I notice the the back ring panel have gap that worried me if water can get in the phone betwemy that gaps. If you notice it, leave a comment how to fix this issue.
That it for what I did, complaint and conditions of my Z1C over the past 2 month. Its still a phone with excellent battery life, a excellent game performer, a good saturated screen, a good low light capture camera, a tough frame to protect the front and back panel(don't drop at flat surface of the phone), good signal receiver, accurate gps point.

If Amoled is a 10 out of 10 then the z1 compacts screen is a 6 or 7 at best.

I have this phone for about a month and a couple of days now, and i think it's ok, It's just too pricey,.It's almost costs as same as the z1.
No overheating issue, but still it accumulate heat when you use it constantly, specially in gaming.
the camera is adequate, but i am dissapointed in low light shots, i dont have that flash bleed issue, but still my images in lowlight are below average.but pictures in adequate lighting is excellent
the screen is great. even in auto brightness mode and when i crank it up to the highest brightness its more awesome.
I am just hesistant to update my 4.3 jellybean os, because i read some blogs that 4.4 kitkat on z1compact has bugs. as of now i am contented with my 4.3 jb and my z1compact white. waiting for a bug-free update. Here me Sony? I am a loyal costumer, since sonyericsson times.
I think its a great buy. I really love its compactness in my hands.
