There is no reason why the smartphone cannot update. Since it is released a few years ago with the latest software already available a few years ago so updating it wouldn't be a problem. If it is a problem maybe get a Sony mid-end smartphone like XPERIA XA1 or XPERIA XA1 ULTRA?

Every phone bends? None of my other phones have had any physical defects to date. And I have used them heavily.
By your logic, it's sounds like you accept crap products as long as Sony's name is slapped on it. Let's not become the Sony equivalent to Apple fanboys.

There's never been a problem having my other premium smartphones in my front pockets. Only my Z3. And I am extremely pedantic when it comes to my tech gear. Especially my smartphones.
Look, I get it that you're a fan of the Z3 but that doesn't mean you can turn a blind eye to the ACTUAL problem that a lot of Z series users have experienced through the years. Even Sony admitted that the rear glass is not the same quality and material as the front glass.
Consider yourself one of the fortunate ones to have made it this far without cracks.

The complaints have nothing to do with dropped phones. Besides, a case is an optional accessory. There are a lot to users who appreciate the esthetic beauty of a phone's design.

How clumsy does one have t... moreSaying of the waterproffing part about warning, fyi every smartphone actually have that precaution, to warn u to make the ports dry before charging. Sony is trying to be much more user friendly, thats why. While other smartphone companies doesn't give a damn about waterproofing precautions, they just said it is waterproof without any precautions, which will cause some clumsiness for some people. The reason why they have waterproofing, is because the seals of the smartphone are better seal than non-waterproof smartphones, which gives them a rating of waterproofing
