I prefer you buy Z3.

IP68 certified (Xperia Z3)and IP58 certified (Xperia Z2).

it means just more protection against dust, the first number 5 means it has the second highest number against dust, a 6 means the phone is dustproof meaning no dust can enter critical components and damage, the 8 number after is a second highest number rating against water and moisture, highest is a 9 so meaning it has a good protection against water.

Anyway, lucky it was the back and not the front, at least the phone can still be used in an emergency. Hope they will repair it on warranty but actually i doubt it, i have experience with Sony Service centers, they are searching so hard for damages from all angles, even invisible scratches will be noted on the form, and they will go like "ohhh how did this happen, ohhh theres a stain here and a scratch there" like its some kind of disaster. Not that they didnt honor the warranty of the Vaio but the process of registering was unpleasant.
