Facebook/Ymail and spotify and avast, i guess those are the most energy consuming apps while idle.
Plus i use spotify almost all the time ( its connected to my car and i drive alot)
So with all of those constantly running, the battery lasts a day. Sometimes a bit over a day, sometimes a bit less. But on average, a day is a safe bet.

you will notice the ZL has better specs, better camera, better screen, more ram, better processor, etc..
based only on that i would suggest "go for the ZL!"
however that would just be me, the fact that really matters is "with which phone do you feel better?"
since you are the one who is going to have the phone.
my experience so far with the ZL is that this phone is amazing, i love it, and use it almost all the time, i even love to check the hour and stuff just to see the screen o see a picture of a lake i where i'd love to have a house, because its screen (regardless the viewing angles thingy) is gorgeous, u feel as if you where watching a picture printed on high quality chemistry paper, so i really love just to turn it on and dream i live in that place.
on the other side i am not a friend of big phones, for me this phone is HUGE, i love the minis, so when i use it as a phone (just calls) i feel as if i was using a brick or my shoe just to make a call, so i see my ZL as a tablet, and actually, if you compare this phone to the xperia tablet Z you will notice how the phone is exactly the same as the tablet (save for a few differences), so for me this is more like a tablet and therefore i use it a lot, everyday.
with that in mind i was convinced by a friend to actually install a game on it (i am more into emulators), i had angry birds but that's no game.. is more like the "pen games" section of a daily journal, so i installed real racing 3 since its free, and "wow"... this phone does work as an entertainment center since you can connect it to a any tv with HDMI or miracast and play whatever you want from any HD movie (it now supports exfat) to a nice looking game.
all in all i really love this phone, but as stated before it you the one who is going to be the end user, so you should get the phone you like the most and you pocket can afford
btw sorry for being so extent, i am really enjoying my ZL n_n

Samsung Mega 6.3 or Sony XPeria ZL?

Shahul, 17 Jul 2013I would appreciate anyone can help me on one thing. My zl i... morei dont know which country you belongs to. Aslo someone has clarified wrongfully what is happening to your update. This is absolutely possible over OTA. I have done that 3days back in india. it was 212Mb or so. Also if during download the network fails the process will wait for reasonable time till it detects link. If link do not come in a specific time it will abort the update and will reboot the earlier verson. However for such a large file you need atleast 3g speed, else there is possibility to divert you automatically for wifi/other option.

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2013If u listen to me you can easily go for ZL not only because... morejust one correction, it is 1080p not 1080i, the P stands for progressive, whereas the i stands for interlaced, in short P means all lines and pixels show the image and refresh at the same time, whereas i (interlaced) even lines refresh at a different rate that the other lines; so it is simple, 1080i is actually 540p.
on other note full HD is 1080p, the screen size should actually be 1920x1080 and all pixels should work at the same refresh rate, please DO NOT mistake that p for the i, or you could end up wasting your money on useless devices

So how come Xperia ZL is cheaper than ZR? even though ZL has a better and bigger screen and the same processor, a better internal memory.. how come? could someone explain that to me?

AnonD-166880, 19 Jul 2013Please tell me which one out of SP and ZL better is the dua... moreIf u listen to me you can easily go for ZL not only because of quad core however the screen resolution is 1080i FUll HD, and bigger screen and almost same specs as Z, doesn't mean that SP is any lesser thats one purely polished phone with specs and works really well hwoever internal memory is lesser and lesser ram and lesser screen resolution and lesser pixels in camera so if you want to think of these things u may go and grab ZL, both are purely tremendous phone though , obviosly its SONY make believe. :)

If you'll play at the same resolution (720p), when definitely Xperia ZL will work faster. But its hard to say which will work faster if you'll play at the max resolution what devices support(sp is 720p and zl is 1080p)
