There is absolutely no way you can update using your data plan. Wi-Fi is a must. Many OEMs don't allow over the air updates through data plan anymore, that include Sony as well. This is to reduce the chances of damaging your phone, because if you lose your signal you will lose your connection. If the update gets stuck in between, chances are, your phone will get bricked. I hope I provided you with a workable solution.

I would appreciate anyone can help me on one thing. My zl indicates that I have the latest software update available some 212 odd mb. The problem it does not allow me to update via mobile network, it says update via wifi only.
I have an unlimited data plan. Is there anyway I can change the setting ( I checked all over to phone but could not locate one)

Noted by the remote IR Blaster Infrared capabilities should perhaps be that although Sony claims the device can lean IR commands, that functionality doesn't work as advertised.

Hi, guys! So, I was experiencing a problem with the STAMINA mode where it did not show the correct stand by time. Searching online, I saw that this was a common bug. My solution to this is, go to Setting>All Apps. Search for Extended Stand by Mode controller. Force stop it and then Clear Data. Reboot your phone. The problem should be fixed, however, temporarily. What I noticed is that the STAMINA mode shows a notice when you first turn it on. Below the notice is a check box 'Do not show this again'. I think this is the issue! Almost everyone will tick that box. I left it unchecked and haven't faced this problem again.
