This is "NOT&qu... moreWell i have Sony (Ericsson) phones since they start making them like the first phone ever and all the other models too, and for your consideration i know what i buy, specially specifications, but i did not expect high end phone to fail so fast, and as a fan of Sony i am dissipated.

Well i have this phone for about a month it is a nice phone but i am so pissed out with it cause of sudden the mic does not work tried the repair and update and nothing,, it did not drop nor got wet, SONY I am disappointed..

AnonD-156060, 18 Jun 2013You are the first person I came across who confirms that le... morelol, i am the one with the notification led issue, see, my led doesn't light green, it lights the other colors but green or white, but yeah, it does learn the IR from other remote controls, and everything else is great on my phone, i am still waiting for a new update since i have 1 year warranty, but the led issue sometimes annoys me a lot

May be you are lucky enough but if you see sony support community forum for ir blaster problem, you will notice its major problem worldwide. I guess you are among the few lucky ones. Congrats for owning this handset.

very good phone!!! Xperia ZL FTW! :) comfortable to hold, great display, and specs! superb! wish it has Triluminos technology+water proof,dust resistant and it would be perfect! 9.8/10 :)

I own this beauty and I love it! it may not as expensive and exclusive as Z, S4 or One but im feeling really proud when holding it right next to S4 (just now in the restaurant :D). Actually words cant express my feelings ha ha ha

This phone is good.. Rally most compact 5" screen phone for now.. Everything is smooth and good..
Camera, use scene mode for better photo.
IR blaster, air conditioner can't be used.. I think due to 2 way signal transmit for air cond and the temperature. Bt other can use for all in my home.
Gaming, smooth and no lag at all. Do rmb, warm is a must while hard gaming. Don't aspect it won't be warm or hot..
Walkman, good audio quality..normal loudness, good to compatible with earphone.
Battery, big and lasts long. 1 day per charge for heavy usage like screen on time 5hours. 1 day per charge. Low or medium usage can last for 1 day or more.
Overall, smooth for daily usage and multitasking.. Nothing more to request from it.. Hopefully can get better camera improvement in further update, 4.2.2.

mine works perfectly, and if the app does not have the device i want i simply put the controller to the side of the phone, and let the app learn the function from the original controller, so far it has worked with every single device i tried, this even works with very old TV sets, a very old INFRA *creative labs* CD-ROM drive (which i currently use as a CD stereo), a genius TVGO and a *micomsoft* X-RGB-2plus none of them listed on the app, no idea why your phone doesn't work

Dear Friends, If planning to buy ZL considering its IR Blaster feature, please note that IR Blaster does not work with learnt IR Codes. Sony as of now has no solution or this problem. Rest the phone is excellent I am using since 3 months. But I had bought this looking into IR Blaster function hence dissapointed now.

I've had this phone for a week now, and i got to say, its the best phone i've ever had. Im glad i picked the ZL and not the Z because of the size, the ZL is perfect, the same size as nexus 4 and i have no complaints at all about the performance, everything is runs smooth. I love the UI customization by sony, its really easy to put widgets and change the theme or background. The screen is mindblowing, i had my doubts about it because of the viewing angles, but guess what, its not a big deal AT ALL! screen is just amazing, colors are alive in it.
i truly recommend this phone, it was about time that sony matches the competition, and they're doing an excelent job. Im glad i came back to sony, my last one was the k850. Keep it up the good work sony!

Mark, 14 Jun 2013Im about to buy a quad core smartphone next week, and im st... moreSee dude..HTC one X, S3 and LG optimus G are quite outdated....Remaining is Nexus 4 N ZL..so if you want a pure android experience and fast updates matters to u then you can go for Nexus 4 if you want SONY custom ui or dont mind getting updates after months of release of an update consider ZL..i own a ZL by the way.
Other things for you to decide is below.
1.ZL has memory card slot Nexus dont have one(either fixed 8or16GB variant)
2. ZL has 5" FULL HD 1080p mind blowing display vs 4.7" 720p IPS True HD display on Nexus
3.ZL has LTE variant Vs 3G only variant(GSMARENA COMPARE)
4.IR blaster Remote control On ZL
5.ZL has better display outside with contrast and with good audio(audio gsm arena compare)
Now its in your hand what you want others are same specs and i suppose you already know that....you mentioned quad core...in the begining..does it matter you go for octa core S4...its good(but i dont prefer sammy phones noffence to sammy users)

Im about to buy a quad core smartphone next week, and im still confused of what should i buy, is it Samsung Galaxy s3, HTC one x, LG Optimus G, LG Nexus 4,Or Xperia ZL? Please help me this is my first quad core phone.
