Sony ZL is by no means a lesser device to say htc one or GS4! It has one of the best screens in the market today (save for the viewing angles, this issue is WAYYY overblown). I would say it is crisper/more vibrant than htc one head on (you may check comparison videos on youtube)& overall better than S4 pentile SAMOLED (having greenish hue) with regards to colour temperature/accuracy.
And I completely lost you when you said about call & sound quality. ZL has one of the best call/sound quality on android (gsmarena review confirms it). The sim/sdcard flap could've been better placed as in XZ but is no way flimsy that it would break off, its good quality actually (better than Samsung back/battery covers anyway)! And imo sony design & build quality is much better than others (esp. Samsung).
The camera has great potential & sensor used is very good (same as on GS4), see the burst mode shots for example! A software update can easily fix the current auto mode compression/noise suppression issues. Overall the camera is better than say htc one. Hence imo ZL is for sure one of the best smartphones of 2013 so far along with XZ, One & GS4. Each smartphone having their respective strong & weak points!

I also had the HTC one and one x , both HTC phones are far superior. No I don't have "facts" in terms of silly test numbers from running silly testing programs but facts from real world usage.
One real fact is the phone is $20 less than the HTC ONE. You can use the "facts" in the testing shown on this site to prove to yourself that based on gsmarena's testing that for only a $20 savings does not make the ZL the best phone available.
I have no hate for the Xperia, but the reality is it is not the best, it is not the best for the money. Compared to the ONE and the S4 it is marginal at best.
Also these comments are not here just for possitive talk but for opinions and questions. Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but the phone just isn't worth the same cash as the ONE.

This is an excellent phone with the best audio quality and fantastic battery life. The screen is only marginally behind htc one and s4. And it is around 10k cheaper than s4 and HTC one- this is the best value for money phone this year period.

dear Sony,
If u r making expensive phones, and again launching that phone jst adding a single letter after it, it doesnt give a change but its worthless. launch other version of that but make it cheap so ppl can afford it.

Phone is marginal at best, screen is meh, phone quality is like talking through a tin can and a string. Loud speaker is useless, phone in speaker mide is scary bad.
Little flap on back for SIM and memory card is cheap and easily broken off and lost.
Camera is nothing special.
Should win best mediocre high priced phone for 2011.

below is kind of User Review of the phone
I have been using this phone for the past 2 weeks and following is my opinion of the phone
The Loudspeaker of the phone is not very loud(neither is the supplied headset) but the audio is crisp and good news for casual listeners is that the clearAudio+ option takes care of sound automatiocally
videos are an absolute pleasure to watch and the VPT option makes the viewing experience even more pleasurable
The photo clarity is not the best in class but there are apps (perfectly clear for android eg) which fix the photos and store them in the orignal resolutuion
playing games is an absolute pleausre on the big screen and heavy games like NFS Most wanted run without a hitch on the device.
the 2 GB RAM allows many apps to be open simultaeneously i had NFS Most Wanted running in the foreground with another game paused in the background
the remote control app works as claimed and can also be used for set top boxes of popular DTH/Cable suppliers
the phone though claimed to be thicker than others in the competition does not feel so in the hand even if u hold a thinner phoen say galaxy S3, i wonder waht they have to say about Lumia 920 in terms of those specs
the plastic back also feels solid and good to hold in hand (though certrainly not good to look at) but the baxk can easily be covered by the supplied snap on cover in the box
the camera which is at the bottom works great for landscape calls and is certainly good to use even in potrait
the benchmark scores of this device may place in the 4th or 5th place everywhere but the real life user experience is hardly bothering no nopticeable lags were seen at all
Finally i would just like to say that the phone feels gr8 to hold in the hand and is very ease to use and handle go for it!!!

Restart means it will turn off your phone and automaticaly turned on (d0nt ask anym0re, thats it).. Reset means that when u reset it ask ur security code then itll shutdown then automatically turned on and all of your phone settings from, ringtones,wallpaper, screensaver etc. Will be set to default set. As u purchase it from the very begining u hold up your phone! Gets?

Would be great if it were a force restart/reboot button since ZL battery is non-removable therefore you can't simply remove battery to fix a freeze so that's where this little yellow button will come in handy.
Pressing little yellow button equals removing battery, that would be nice.

I read that for soft reset, you simply press and hold the Power key and the Volume key at the same time for about 7 seconds, that would prompt an automatic restart. For hard/factory reset, you'll have to go to: Settings > Backup and reset > Reset phone > Erase everything, so I'm wondering what kind of reset this little yellow OFF button does.
