For those who need recomendation about buying xperia z and zl.I think xperia zl is lame compare to z. Ugly design no water resistance awkward front facing camera placement.these reasons are why it is cheaper.please don't buy zl.if you need a super phone just increase your budget for like $50 (at least in my country).just go and grab a xperia z in a shop near you.:-)

Just noticed in the pictures that there is a small yellow "OFF" button inside the ZL's small back compartment for micro SD & micro sim. What's that OFF button for?

XroidZ, 23 Apr 2013I think this issue with regards to viewing angle depends on... moreI really thank you and also another 'annoynymous ' person who comment about the viewing angle issue. You see I don't show off to anyone or friends if I buy this phone. You are right. I should test it before buying. But I am also waiting for the S4 to see the price difference and in other words which one is more value for my money. The ZL is beautifully built/design and for a 5" phone it is the most compact in its class.Thank you for your comment and have a nice day.

AnonD-133754, 21 Apr 2013battery consumption is NOT related to being an LTE or non-L... moreWell, this is the rumor that’s been circulating around the web since the advent of LTE/4G capable smartphones. It seems that LTE’s super fast speed in data transmission is also applicable in terms of battery drain. I agree with you on this, I personally don’t think that LTE itself is the cause but rather it’s the smartphone’s continued search for LTE signal (in low LTE coverage areas) that caused the abrupt battery drain. I’m no expert, this is just my personal take on the issue. I think an LTE enabled smartphone though backwards compatible will try to connect to LTE where possible thus even if it has stable 3G/2G signals and is already connected to HSPA/HSDPA or EDGE, it continues to search for LTE signals in areas with low LTE coverage. Although it’s called a “Smartphone”, it’s not yet smart enough to know when to switch or stay connected between signals to conserve battery life, of course unless you manually disabled LTE. LTE is not widely available yet and most don’t have LTE yet (my area included), unless you have strong LTE coverage in your area, it makes more sense to just stick to the HSDPA version. WiFi speed is comparable to LTE if not faster so WiFi makes a good alternative to LTE if you missed the speed.

iSJ5, 21 Apr 2013But the viewing angle of the ZL is awful. I think this issue with regards to viewing angle depends on personal preference. Some prefer a wider viewing angle mostly for showing off while others prefer a narrower viewing angle for privacy. I personally don't understand why anyone would want to share viewing on a smartphone, if you want to share viewing, then connect your smartphone to your flat screen TV via a micro USB MHL to HDMI adapter cable or thru NFC if you have NFC enabled TV. Moreover, screen quality just cannot be fairly measured in a video or in a picture, better check out the phone personally in your local retailer and judge for yourself.
