Hey Guys, I am keen on procuring a phone that serves certain business needs including....1)Good battery giving actual 10-12 hours of talk time with continuous Push Mail and Whats App....2)Word/Excel view and Edit features.....3)Stable OS with no hanging or lag.
I don't play games and occasionally browse or use apps.
Does SONY XPERIA fit these requirements ?

And rooting is not the only thing to do you need to partition the sd card and some other stuff. An easier thing is to have a phone with its normal stock storage. But yes i am happy with my gaming experiences with zr just needed a bit more though if not for budget problems i would have purchased a z1 compact as an original choice. Well as i have said im happy with my zr.

For storage problem, you can root your phone and install folder mount.
But the gpu??
The adreno 320 in zr has much less resolution to deal with giving better gaming performance. Eg. T-Rex on screen, i get 22fps, on-par with Xperia z1, g2 etc and better than the g3 whereas in Xperia Z, you have a 1080p screen to deal with, giving much less gaming performance or giving less framerate compared to ZR

I would upgrade to a z anytime but i am very much happy with my zr as seeing from my xperia z peers, zr is much more stable phone esp no problems when i used it underwater whereas z had certain problems like speaker getting low and camera blur for a while which will go off eventually after sometime and i had no xperiences like that with my zr. However i am a gamer so i need more internal memory for hd games since kitkat restricted apps to transfer on sd cards. So your call...

ZR is a compact phone with not so big screen and only 8gigs internal storage but more waterproof and has a camera shutter button.
If you prefer one-handed usage more, get the ZR, else go for xperia Z

There's a confusion in buying sony mobile, which is better sony xperia Z or ZR. Can any one tell me the problems faced so far in both and suggest which is better. Thanks in advance.

Try beanstalk or cyanogen mod.
For pure stock experience, try AOSP ones

I browsed the net n found out tht after updating xperia ZR to kitkat version there are certain battery drain problems due to google play services ...also some say tht the latest GP service update has solved the problem....is it true..? are there any battery drains or bugs...? need help!

cmeze, 06 Jul 2014I'm talking after updating to Kitkat.. before it didn't lag... moreDude, seriously there's some prob with your ZR. Even I'm getting around 21k in antutu now after update but i don't see any lag while having :/
Try formatting your phone, repairing using pc companion etc.
