I had a problem connecting with PC ,not necessary that everyone faces this problem.
Please search for "Software data cable" in android market . It is a wireless file manager. Havent explored syncin contacts and messages . But i take backups in my SD card .
Running internet using phone as wifi Ad-hoc hotspot :
Yes, it performs well as wifi hotspot so you can run internet using phone . Search for barnacle wifi tether in android market . I havent tried connecting more than one devices yet but it shld be capable of supporting few more laptops.It doesnt support 3G remember . Just one more thing dont buy any mini bluetooth based keyboards , android 2.2 doesnt support i wasted my money.

The driver given with this mobile doesn't work.

This phone is worth for the money . Thanks to hari charan for initial reviews. I have been using this phone for more than one month now. Working well.Listing out problems and solutions i found .
Problem -Moderate Battery life :
Phone comes with battery -1000mah(Li-po) runs 24-26 hrs .
Solution:
GFive compatible battery is available with 1200mah now mine runs for 36-40 hrs with Edge always on. Use power booster app.
Problem-Unwanted apps running backround
Solution :
As advised by others i used Z4root(from xda developers) get into su mode. Remove all unwanted stuff.
Problem: Doesnt connect with Pc
Solution : Use software data cable app to browse through your phone wireless[wifi needed].
Gmail sometimes doesnt sync but thats not phones problem , something to do with carrier .Graphics is decent compared to the price .Dual sim works well . GPS works well with the support of AGPS.Phone quality is okay . Speaker phone is very poor .
If you want dual sim +android 2.2+decent/low browsing need+push emails+GPS+not wanting to invest too much ..then this phone is for you!

Its an average phone... only complaint is the network reception... it does not catch signal when other phones are showing full signal... Spice needs to improve on this... basic feature's quality should not be compromised...

Almost all the websites I have gone through saying that Spice Mi-270 has capacitive touch screen but here after reading comment someone says capacitive n the other says resistive. I'm little confused. Can anyone help?

The processor is definitely 600Mhz as it can play Angry birds Original Version very well and burn the rope with moderate lagging. Angry birds Lite runs very fast with zero lagging. Its performance is well comparable to HTC wildfire. Wi-fi range is very good. The notification LED comes very handy. The touchscreen is very accurate and responsive provided if you calibrate it with the stylus. Lack of a dedicated GPU makes it slower for graphic intensive games but for daily tasks it is more than very good. Root it with z4root and remove the unnecessary apps and tune RAM with Netqin Android booster and you will have a phone as smooth as HTC wildfire!

dear friends, i am not user of android phone, i want to know that can i open internet explorer and attachment in this phone? and can i book tickets by opening make my trip site etc? also can open MS office like work, excel and do work on that? pl. reply because this is my main requirement for new phone, is it possible with spice mi 270? as i could not afford costlier phones, and my usage is half hour talk time< 20 mini sms and 1 hour internet, how long than battery will last in this phone, i would be thankful from reply of spice mi270 user, that will help me lot, pankaj

Avadhut, 19 Aug 2011Hi Virag, Did you tried connecting MI-270 with My Phone Ex... moreit works. switch on ur wifi jst open mobile application n pc application. in pc click on file n den users den add user. it will open a dialog box to select symbian or android. jst select android. it will connect to phone automatically. i m using dis app frm last 3 yrs. its best app to manage contact sms calender log n files between different phones of different company. even u can save symbian data on android phone with back up n restore option.

Did you tried connecting MI-270 with My Phone Explorer, can you share your experiance? also can you share info about apps needed to install to connect properly?
I tried to install default device driver that comes with phone, installed mobile version of this MPE app started but even in tethering mode it is not connecting could not connect phone

the worst thing in this phone are:
1. unmanged call details
2. poor quality video. if u play high quality even to see just clear u cant play only sound comes and screen black.
3. u can download applications but you can not delete its even if download is better than preloaded.
4. not all options in messeging
It is average phone. but with so poor video quality it has no value among the phones with android.

I bought one two weeks ago. It is miles away from iphone4 or other android devices such as the HTC Hero or Legend (my previous android devices). The touch screen is resistive and very imprecise and general finishes and materials are of a 80€ phone... However it is simply very comfortable to be able to use a Android dual sim device, and to be able to keep all my contacts synced with my iphone and my email.
