Spotify announces a ton of new features to make using its app easier
Spotify has announced some updates, that are "gradually rolling out" starting today. First, Premium users get an upgraded Queue, with a new, easier to use design and included Shuffle, Smart Shuffle, Repeat, and Sleep Timer controls. Additionally, Premium users will see which songs Spotify recommends after your queued-up tracks end. You can also quickly switch Autoplay and Smart Shuffle off in Settings.
There's an updated, "more intuitive" Hide button, which hides a track from that playlist across all devices. And with Snooze, a song will be removed from your recommendations for 30 days.
At the top of all your playlists there's now easy access to Add, Sort, and Edit options, and Liked Songs can be turned into a playlist in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa (but only these countries so far for some reason). If you are in one of them, you can try this out by filtering by genre and tapping "turn into a playlist".
With the new "+" button at the bottom-right side of the mobile app, you can easily create a playlist, collaborate with friends, and join a Blend, and in "supported markets" Premium users also get access to Jam for real-time listening with friends, and AI Playlist, which lets you turn "your most creative ideas" into playlists. Finally, Your Library is now the third option at the bottom of the app.
