This is a good phone,have some facilities but not the important ones,I want to install whatsapp,I was searching for many web sites to find answers,then I got a website to download whatsapp,then I downloaded,successfully whatsapp have been downloaded,then started installing,as usually it came'this could not be install in this phone',then I thought of buying a new phone and bought galaxy s4 and had this phone as my second

I have a Galaxy Note 4, which is perfectly fine as my primary phone. There are times, however, when it would be handy to have a second phone with a second number for occasional voice, text, and checking GMail or as my "local" handset when overseas. I have an old T-Mobile G1 that has been sitting in a drawer for about 2 years. It's in good shape, but undoubtedly has the original Android OS, default T-Mobile factory settings, and essentially no apps. I do have the unlock code and used it successfully 2 years ago with local SIMS in several Asian countries. I'd appreciate any advice on what are the key steps to bring this as up to date and into as useful a state as possible for use as a backup phone. To be clear, I have no expectation of this performing like a modern smartphone or running a ton of fancy apps -- just voice / text / GMail, either with a pay-as-you-go domestic SIM or a country- or region-specific SIM when I am traveling overseas. Thanks!

Immanuel oluwafemi, 27 Oct 2014I can't downlod whatsap nd 2go can some1 help me wit dat you can,t use whatapp on htc/T-mobile/google/dream G 1 phone because the custom rom will not allow you to do so.you will succesfully install tha application but will not be able to sign in.never.
