Whatsapp can be downloaded for devices with 2.1, but other apps in Google play needs 2.3

whatsapp requires android 2.1 or above version. So this phone will not be able to run whatsapp and other social app(wechat,line,viber)

Viber and WhatsApp do not support Android 1.6, and are therefore not usable on the T-Mobile G1.
There is also no USB storage. All file storage requires a SD card.
