Y'all some narrow minded ppl the g1 is a verry good shot at the iphone the best yet in fact its better u have a slide out keyboard and u have MMS somethin ur precious iphone cannot do which I must mention is a simple function of a free prepaid phone lol someone must be payin y'all to hype up the iphone oh yea when the iphone gets a standard 3g chip let me kno

Please make sure that it can read mini sd / hc cards 4gb, 8gb or 16 gb. if you are plaining to use music, video, movies and picture you will need the space. please don't buy the t-mobile dash phone. Note make sure that all it work correctly before you but it......

As for the design, I think this is on purpose. As unsightly as this phone is, do you think it will not be noticeable from afar that you're holding a G1?
Google just wanted for the phone to be different. As I am waiting for my G1 I wish it looked sleeker, sexier, if you will. I guess it will be like a sphynx cat: the looks are rather repulsive but if you have one, you love it.

Shipping, right...
As of this moment UPS only gives you a "shipping/billing information received", for my G1 on Oct. 15. They will ship on Monday, most probably, to be delivered on Oct 22 or 23.
Let's see what Google will deliver this time...

phone is better than i thought, reception is pretty good, im getting better 3g signal w/ tmo compared to iphone 3g w/ att, its touch screen is not as good as the iphone, battery life is not so good, its nice to able to web browse while on the call (using bluetooth). i wish i could type on screen instead of having to always slide open to use keyboard. gps takes a while for intial location. html emails doesnt fit to screen, kind of annoying having to zoom in/out or scroll. overall i like the phone, but needs some improvement to compete with the iphone.

I'm a t-mobile dealer in maine and my adr brought one in i've used it and did some comparisons with my diamond and i wasn't that impressed the apps feature is awesome and i'll sell this thing like a gift from god but it was slower and the camera reselution wasnt as nice and the youtube client was annoying chopy and stopping to load constantly my diamond took just as long but it loaded the video and played it perfect i think this phone is just going to be a huge let down

i just got my bronze or brown (not to bed for being brown) g1 in yesterday the phone is not that bad granted the design isnt vary good good but it gets the job done and as for the accelometer there doesnt seem to be one as of right now i havent played with it long enough just yet to figure it out the key pad does light up but is vary dim but over all the phone is not that bad i use to have the iphone unlocked and used with tmobile and i have to say i kinda like the g1 better because it has a keyboard and it is 3g the battery live in the g1 is not good and a car charger or solar charger is a must

I got my G1 yesterday and its amazing. Keyboard is kindof low and embedded so it can get difficult to use. There are shortcuts on the phone that allow you to move threw it faster. So that comes in handy. The phone comes with awesome ringtones and wallpapers so no boring regular stuff like the "you know who" phone. Finding the video player was a little adventure I must say. I had to download an extra video player to find the original one that comes with the phone. The touch screen is responsive for a data device, the __phone uses a different touch screen but this one still gets the job done right.
Battery life!!!!! Extreme phone users, the battery life is not that great. You are looking at maybe one to two charges a day!! So carry an extra charger around! Car chargers are a must!
Wifi and 3G make this phone SPEEDY! Its amazing how fast it CAN move.
Overall. Great phone, small minor details that could be worked on but GREAT JOB T-MO, HTC, AND GOOG!
