That way it would pick up the tower signal from the us tower. Im afraid other than that it absolutely wont work! Trust me on this!

Listen closely folks..You can't unlock a sidekick..i repeat... You can't unlock a sidekick..why..because the your signal passes thru a cell-tower and than it goes to a special (Danger) server tower..Danger was the original company that made Sidekicks now it's owned by Sharp. The Danger server (i believe) is in Dallas Texas somewhere. So, The sidekick only works on T-mobile USA. Thats rite a Sidekick is one of the only T-mobile phones that you can't unlock...Trust me on this folks!

This phone is not great at all. I bought it to use as a work phone since a lot of people text updates (in the military) and it was an absolute waste of money. Battery sucks, call quality sucks. I returned it and got an Iphone 3GS and have no regrets.

people of the world, this phone is only available thru tmobile SP. which is for US only, but u can buy it unlock it when u buy it outright from them but not all features. especially the internet access will work if u use non tmobile service...
