        I'm really interested in this device (only for the display). But there is no where to buy it? TCL have been advertising it on their website for the last 2 weeks, but there are no links to purchase it. It's not available through any online retailers yet.

          I was never a fan of TCL (used to rather like Alcatel however when it was still French). I have owned two TCL smartphones but there was nothing appealing about them. The screens were barely ok (while TCL can make very decent screens as they are a screen manufacturer), the hardware was just enough but on software side it was buggy as hell. The only thing that was slightly more than ok was the building quality considering the asking price. In this case I would just want one to check out how well (or bad) these new screens are. If they do the trick such as Nokia did with it's polarized screens in the old days but better it might be interesting while in fact it's still an LCD display and not an e-Ink one. I would like to see how wel the glare that is always a part of LCD's gets diminished somehow.

Not only that but all the Canadian carriers are super slow at adopting the latest phones from those 2-3 budget brands. Most phones are still from last year. It's quite sad.

It's literally just Samsung/Google/Motorola/TCL for Android options on the carrier shelves. Some regional carriers will carry 2-3 Android brands out of the 4 brands. It seems like there used to be 5-7 Android brands over 5 years ago, now that has slimmed down to 3-4 brands.

                I hate that TCL makes up a major part of the smartphone brands in Canada/US. Really shows how little diversity/competition there is here.

                        Decent specs, but G88 is ruining all of them

                          Interesting. I hope it really has dual band WiFi because lately some of my friends who owns TLC phones reports not having 5ghz .
