needed a cheap phone as a stop gap nothing fancy so 50 pound was a good price
if only argos would of advertised that it runs on a cut down version of android 14 i would
of looked into what that entailed but thy dint and so i have a phone i can not run my banking app on and to top it nor will it run paypal 2 apps i was botherd about there are a lot more app;s it wont run just going on play store and trying to download other apps i wanted on it showed me how limited it was i should of got a second hand samsung ok
the thing was cheap and am not complaining about its limited capabilitys am frustrated with the fact its not advertised as having limited capabilities when it comes to the apps it will run
argos ,tesco ect dont tell you on there sites or in store kin joke

Great phone for price..functions perfectly and handles most usual apps, but dont expect it to handle RAM intensive games etc its £50 for goodness sake!

You do understand the whole concept of a rock bottom budget phone?
Did you even check the specs because if you did you would understand it's barebones, it's 2gb and runs on Android 14 Go which means you should be only running scaled down versions of apps otherwise this phone will crash out!
It's not built for the things you want to do and for the price I really don't know what you were expecting it's for calls and texts and light browsing nothing else.

It's NOT a gaming phone. It doesn't have powerful graphics.
It's so bad it can't even run regular Android, it runs Android go, and that's why it keeps crashing, you are trying to do stuff on it that it was never designed to do.......

Absolutely crap.
Have nothing but problems with it. It's slow, keeps crashing especially when TRYING to play games.
Talking of which, games are slow. That is if lucky enough to play games.
Keeps coming up with "UI system not responding" so when I ok it, it logs me out of whatever I'm doing.
When I complained about it to TCL, they said clear cache of apps that are affected. Done that but didn't resolve. They said to restart mobile in safe mode, but that didn't help or explain things. They also said that in order to play games or run apps without it crashing, you gave to download apps that are of Android Go (whatever that means, as nothing stated in phone details in the settings) and also apps that are of LITE, but not all games (especially ones that I play) are of LITE. Any game or app I am able to download, states "works on your device" Therefore, why don't they work properly?
I certainly wouldn't recommend this phone unless they make it work properly WITHOUT crashing apps, and also allow us to use/add widgets.

I'd also like to say, that I'm not normally one to complain about things, but when I pay money that I can only afford, and had no problems as such with other TCL phones, I'd expect this one to be just as good.

Completely unusable out box tried 5 different charger pd and quick chargers nothing would work with it took nearly 2 days to get full charge

Not so much opinion as question: I never see this listed as compatible with any US carriers. I want to use it as a backup phone home in the US and as a travel phone abroad (on prepaid pay as you go plans with appropriate SIM/eSIM. Is it not listed because it is too new? When given the chance to input its IMEI, it is also not found.
All the compatible phones seem to have 2 digits and one or more letters, like 50 XL but no 3 digit numbers like 501.
Can someone explain what is going on?

Bought as a stop gap between upgrades as I lost my Samsung phone.
It is truly the worst phone I've ever had. I wasn't expecting much for £50 but it barely even functions.
There is a lag on opening any app. If you do get an app to open it will crash after 20 seconds.
It can just about manage to handle WhatsApp but forget trying to do anything else with this phone.

Absolute crap. Dropped it once, now unusable, totally dead, can't even hard reset it. Even while it was working, basic apps like youtube kept crashing in the first week of use. AVOID.

Utterly unusable! Don't get it even for free. Lag 10s+ to open any app (even the keyboard), lots of crashes. Worthless. It's surprising such thing exists, it's an anomaly.
