TCL 50 series phones go on open sale
Back in January, TCL announced its seven-member 50 series at CES without detailed specs or pricing. Nearly six months later, we finally get the detailed specs sheets and US pricing for four of the seven devices.
TCL 50 XL NxtPaper 5G
TCL 50 XL NxtPaper 5G features the company’s signature reflection-free display with a special coating that helps with eye protection. It’s a 6.78-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate and gets a 32MP front-facing camera inside its punch hole cutout
50 XL NxtPaper is equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 6100+ chipset, 6GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The phone also sports a microSD card slot which supports up to 2TB cards. The back houses a 50MP main cam alongside an 5MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP depth helper. You get Android 14 out the box and a 5,010mAh battery with 18W charging.
TCL 50 XL NxtPaper5G is available in Space Blue color and retails for $229.
TCL 50 XL 5G
The standard 50 XL 5G looks similar to its NxtPaper sibling but lacks the NxtPaper finish. The res of the specs are identical between the two with the same chipset, cameras, battery and charging.
TCL 50 XL 5G comes in Slate Gray and costs $159.99.
TCL 50 XE 5G
TCL 50 XE 5G brings a 6.56" HD+ LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. It’s also rocking the Dimensity 6100+ chipset with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The back houses the same 50+5+2MP cameras and the device features a 5,010 mAh battery with 18W charging.
TCL 50 XE 5G comes in Dark Blue and retails for $99.99 with a Verizon contract.
TCL 50 LE 5G
TCL 50 LE is the affordable entry in the linuep and offers a 6.6-inch HD+ LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. It gets MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The back features a 13MP main cam alongside a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth helper. The battery is rated at 4,000 mAh and supports 18W charging.
TCL 50 LE 5G comes in Storm Gray and is available for $79.99 from Verizon.
