Tecno Phantom V Flip2 review
Design, build quality, handling
We won't dwell too much on the phone's overall design. It has been refined quite a bit in this generation. The Flip2 is a bit thicker and heavier than its predecessor, but not by a lot, and you wouldn't notice either aspect in practice.
Even though the Phantom V Flip2 is a "budget foldable", so to speak, Tecno seemingly hasn't skimped on the materials. The phone has an aluminum frame and a steel hinge.
The back panel seems to be made of plastic with a smooth, silky, slightly textured finish on top.
The top part with the cover display and cameras is covered with some type of Corning Gorilla Glass, though we don't know exactly what kind.
The Phantom V2 Flip comes in either Gray or Green colors. Both seem to have the same finish.
The hinge on the Flip2 offers a smooth opening and closing action with equal pressure. It can stay open at any angle. When fully open, it is pretty flat. The display crease is definitely present but not too obtrusive. Foldable display tech has really come a long way, and even on a budget device, creasing is not as big of an issue as it used to be. You can still feel the uneven surface with your finger and see it under some angles.
The Phantom V Flip2 has a side-mounted fingerprint reader. It is embedded in the power button and is always on. It works pretty well and is very snappy and dependable.
The rest of the control scheme is pretty standard. You get a power button and volume rocker on the right-hand side. Both are well-positioned height-wise and clicky, with plenty of tactile feedback.
There is a single dedicated bottom-firing speaker, but the Phantom V Flip2 does have a hybrid stereo speaker setup with an amplified earpiece as the second channel.

Whatsoever premium phone Tecno releases in India, people will certainly not buy it, as they want reliability over innovation. This is the reason why some people even now try to avoid POCO X series.
