Even though you can buy older models for cheaper(i bought Fold 3 for 820 euros and it will get looong software support).
I hope Tecno will make small foldable also which could be cheaper than newest Motorola, Samsung, Oppo which are still priced too high for average consumer(of course you can buy older models for cheap but new is always new).

Anonymous, 05 Mar 2023Well, it happened recently only. Heres the link https://www... moreWill ask you some question ? Did this article test all the benchmark ? The answers is : No!
Only PCMark was tested!
There are nearly no differences on Geekbench, 3DMark, Gfxbench...why Anandtech didn't test those? It's really simple to do : you download a cloning app, and clone those applications. You will get 2 differents app, the original will use the so called cheat, the copy won't!
Did Anandtech installed a CPU monitoring app to see :
- how PCMark works without that so called cheating?
- if CPU was at any moment overclocked?
The answers to these two questions is No!
I will answers, because I installed a monitoring application :
- without that so called cheating, PCMark refuses to use Big cores at any moment...for exemple, when PCMark did the browsing test, only little cores are involved. When you use most real browsers, big cores are involved
- there's no overclocking at any moment.
Did at any moment, Anandtech explained what I say is wrong ?
Did that journalist's investigations are complete? I think they aren't !
Do you know what is a governor? It seems you don't
This is a protocole that decide the CPU ressources used for each tasks...
All modern systems use governors.
All modern systems decide when device have to use their full ressources.
All Mediatek did is forcing to use the full ressources on some benchmarks...aren't benchmarks made to mesures the maximum performances of a device? They are!
Plus this system was used on Helio only, not on Dimensity...
Plus...
https://www.anandtech.com/show/16794/oneplus-9-performance-examination
It's funny, when this author find a Mediatek's based device with a so called cheat, it's Mediatek's fault!
When it's a Qualcomm's based, it's OEM's fault!
Don't know why?
Maybe because Qualcomm invite some journalists in Hawaii each years and Mediatek doesn't ! maybe not?

Tbh, its a matter of being the lesser evil of the two. Qualcomm does it too, but then its flagship chipsets outperform its mediatek and exynos counterparts too.

Yet, 9000+ and 8+ Gen 1 have similar Geekbench scores...
...with similar cores and similar frequencies (Cortex X2, A710, A510)...where is the problem?
And both are on TSMC's 4nm (not like standard 8 Gen 1 and its Samsung's 4nm)
If Mediatek cheats...
...then Qualcomm cheats too!
Simple to understand!
The question is how Qualcomm sold tons of 8 Gen 1 with horrible thermals when 9000 was far better?

DarlingYext, 03 Mar 2023Well, design is subjective, I prefer this design. It's... moreDesign is not subjective in this case. The outer folding display is just superior. It's cheaper to make. The hinge is less stressful on the display with it positioned that way, so it won't crease and break as easily as other folds. There's a better screen to body ratio on the outer display with it curving around. There's no need for a filthy hole in either display for a useless camera when you can use the superior main cameras as selfie cameras. The phone is thinner with only 1 display and it being in that position.
And "Ben called the whole shell of the phone very similar to the Huawei Mate XS"? Literally the only similarity is the fact that they're both foldables. EVERYTHING else is different.
