Tecno Spark 10 Pro review
Design, build quality, handling
The Tecno Spark 10 Pro has a premium design, probably one of the best looking within its price bracket. And we do appreciate it, as it is aesthetically pleasing and feels nice to touch.
The Spark 10 Pro has a dual-glass build with a plastic frame between the two panels. Both glass sheets and the frame are flat. And because of that the Spark 10 Pro can stand on its own.
The front of the Spark 10 Pro is occupied by the 6.8-inch IPS LCD screen, and the bezels are of reasonable thickness. The LCD panel has a small perforation centered at the top - this is the spot of the 32MP front camera.
There is a long and thin earpiece grille above the screen. And invisible to the naked eye are a bunch of sensors and a small dual-LED flash right next to it. Naturally, it is not as strong as the rear flash, but it does an excellent job when taking selfies in the dark.
The back of the Spark 10 Pro is reminiscent of the iPhone 14 Pro/Max, probably intentionally. It has a similar purple-ish color and matt finish on the glass, but more importantly, the camera arrangement is the same, even if the number of cameras and sensors is not.
Of course, the Spark 10 Pro is available in more than one color - in addition to the Starry Black, there is also a Pearl White version.
The glossy square that mimics a camera island is surely nice, iPhone nice even, but due to the lack of any significant camera technology underneath, it is not jutting out and is flush with the rest of the back panel.
The three noticeable rings are jutting out, though, and thus responsible for a minor wobbling of the Spark 10 Pro when used on a desk or table. The top ring accommodates the 50MP camera and its lens; the middle one has the dual-LED flash, and the bottom one packs what appears to be a depth sensor (though hardware reading apps suggest it is a fake sensor). Everything else is pure decoration.
The frame is flat and matte, made of solid plastic. There is nothing on its top.
The bottom houses the 3.5mm audio jack, the mouthpiece, the USB-C port, and the loudspeaker.
The tri-card slot is alone on the left side of the Spark 10 Pro.
There are three keys on the right side - the two volume buttons and the power/lock key. The latter also incorporates the always-on fingerprint scanner.
The Tecno Spark 10 Pro measures 168.4 x 76.2 x 8.4 mm and weighs 208 grams - in line with other 6.8-inch or so devices.
We have nothing but positive impressions of our time spent handling and working with the Spark 10 Pro. It is a solid smartphone with an excellent build, stylish and great-looking, and the matte rear glass does give it the premium touch it may need to win you over. Plus, there are no smudges and fingerprints sticking on the back and the frame, which is nice.
As far as grip is concerned, it's average - the matte glass is known to be more slippery than glossy ones, though the plastic frame does help. And if the grip is not enough for you, then you may want to use the bundled case - it will surely boost the grip.

Useless phone. The screen freezes. If you switched off the phone and to restart it takes very long time. The sound quality is very poor. Not recommend to buy.
