Tecno's first clamshell foldable Phantom V Flip is now official
Tecno just introduced its Phantom V Flip – the company's first clamshell foldable smartphone. It has a circular external OLED screen with two cameras and an LED flash in the ring around it, while on the inside is a 6.9” foldable LTPO AMOLED display.
The Phantom V Flip is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 8050 chipset with an octa-core CPU that goes as high as 3.0 GHz. It was announced with 256 GB storage and 8 GB RAM, expandable with up to 8 GB more through the Extended Memory software feature.
The 22:9 foldable panel supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and reaches 1,000 nits brightness. The 1.32" external display offers several widgets, serves notifications and can be used as a viewfinder for shooting selfies with the more capable cameras.
There is a 64 MP main camera with a 1/1.73” sensor, f/1.7 aperture lens and PDAF. The other is a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter that also has autofocus.
The camera on the inside sits inside a punch hole and features a 32 MP sensor.
When unfolded, the device is 171 mm tall and under 7 mm thick, and Tecno placed a 4,000 mAh battery inside – a relatively big two-cell solution for the class. The phone supports 45W wired charging with the adapter provided in the retail box, and Tecno claimed only 15 minutes would be enough to fill the battery halfway.
The Tecno Phantom V Flip features a custom personal assistant called EllaGPT, which brings “intelligent features”, which is Tecno's answer to Google, Siri, Bixby, or Celia.
Tecno is offering the phone in two colors – Black and Purple. The price during the announcement was revealed to be INR49,999, which is around $605/€555. We are at the event in Singapore, and our sources revealed the price for European markets is €700, while other regions could get it for the equivalent of $650 with early-bird promos.
We got our hands on the Tecno Phantom V Flip ahead of release, so be sure to check out our full review to know all about it.

The design is actually pretty cool, also the pricing is fair enough for that kind of a smartphone. Still I wouldn't pay that amount of money for relatively unknown brand. Add a few hundred and go for moto
