The Moto G50 5G ("Saipan") to be powered by a Dimensity 700 chipset
Images of the Moto G50 5G (code name “Saipan”) leaked yesterday, today the key specs follow. It will be an entry-level 5G phone similar to that other Moto G50 5G (“Ibiza”), though with a MediaTek chipset.
Specifically, the Dimensity 700, a 7 nm chipset with two Cortex-A76 cores (at 2.2 GHz), a Mali-G57 MC2 and a 2.77 Gbps 5G sub-6 modem. For comparison, the Ibiza version uses the Snapdragon 480, an 8 nm chipset with two Kryo 460 cores (based on the A76, running at 2.0 GHz) with an Adreno 619 GPU (also seen on the SD 750G) and a 2.5 Gbps modem.

The rest of the specs tell a familiar story. The 6.5” display will have 720 x 1,600 px resolution (there’s no mention of refresh rate – the Ibiza display runs at 90 Hz). The chipset is connected to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage. Next, there’s a 48 MP triple camera on the back, a fingerprint reader on the side, a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the bottom and NFC inside. The phone was certified in Brazil with a 4,700 mAh battery.
It’s not clear when and where the Moto G50 5G “Saipan” will launch, but chances are that it will not be available in Europe – that’s Ibiza territory.
