Poco will launch its first 5G phone in India a week from now on June 8 – the Poco M3 Pro will be available through Flipkart. The brand has a couple of other 5G phones, of course, but they are yet to arrive on the subcontinent.

There is no word on pricing yet, but the Poco M3 starts at INR 11,000. Speaking of the vanilla M3, it has already 5 million units according to Flipcart. That’s a surprising jump considering that the Poco boasted about 3.2 million units shipped (shipped, not sold) just a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway, the Poco X3 Pro is currently discounted to INR 19,000 (down from the MSRP of INR 24,000) on Flipkart. This is a 4G-only phone, though the Snapdragon 860 chipset makes it a higher-end device than the M3 Pro.

That is to say that the price tag of the upcoming Poco M3 Pro will fall somewhere between those two numbers. We have received a review unit so our detailed review should be coming out soon.

By the way, the Redmi Note 10 5G is a nearly identical device (though there are some important differences), but that is not available in India. In fact, the Xiaomi family has very few 5G models in the country (and all of them high end), which is understandable as the first 5G networks there are yet to go live. We published our review of the Redmi last week, in case you’re curious.

I like the 3-D design at the back. It gives a premium feel and under the hood, a solid mediatek processor is good for gaming too.
