The vanilla iPhone 15 models might get a 48MP main camera
The vanilla iPhone 14 pair was a bit of a disappointment as it arrived with the same old 12MP cameras among other complaints. That may change in the next generation as the vanilla iPhone 15 pair will get 48MP 3-stacked sensors in their main cameras, according to a report by Jeff Pu of Haitong Intl Tech Research.
This will give the vanilla phones better zooming capabilities, though they still won’t be a match for the Pros as telephoto lenses will remain exclusive to the pricier models (as will the LiDAR).
In fact, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to have a 6x periscope lens in addition to the 3x tele lens. Also, the new Pros should upgrade to 3nm Apple A17 chipsets (and jump from 6GB to 8GB RAM), while the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will just move up to the current A16 chips.
All four models are expected to have USB-C ports to comply with the impending change in EU regulations. However, there will still be a difference between them – Ming-Chi Kuo says that only the Pros will have USB 3.2 speeds (so the vanilla models will be limited to USB 2.0, just like all iPhones right now).
Other expected differences are titanium cases for the Pro models (instead of stainless steel), which may also come with a switch to virtual volume and power buttons (similar to the home button on the iPhone SE).
According to Pu, the iPhone 15 series will be in stores from September 23 (at least that is the target that Apple has set right now).

At the rate Apple is implementing stuff, probably not for a few more years. We'd be lucky to even get 90hz.

LOL. Don't you understand sarcasm? He means Apple is so late. Apple always follows the footsteps of Android manufacturers, but they do it very slowly.
