This year's Moto X is probably codenamed Calisto

05 June, 2015

The Moto X (3rd Gen), or Moto X (2015), which possibly got leaked yesterday, is now in the news again. Unlike last time, however, today we have no screenshots purportedly showing some of its specs and the Android version it's running.

Instead, what we get is an import listing from Zauba, the Indian database specializing in such information.

As you can see, this is for the Motorola Calisto. No other details are provided, not even a screen size, but we do see that the samples that were imported into India each carry a price of INR 29,775. That's about $464 or €418 at the current exchange rates, which rules out the possibility of this being a new midrange device.

And since Motorola releases only a handful of models each year, and because the Moto X (2nd Gen) is getting rather long in the tooth already, we assume that this is actually the next Moto X. The one that will be announced this summer.

So if all of this pans out we now know that the next Moto X is codenamed Calisto. As we get closer to its official unveiling, we expect to see a lot more of it in leaks.
