Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup gets November 2024 security patch

Samsung released the November 2024 Android security patch for the carrier-locked Galaxy S23 trio in the US a few days ago, which is now rolling out to the unlocked models as well.

The software updates that bring the November 2024 security patch to the Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra have firmware versions S911U1UES5CXI8, S916U1UES5CXI8, and S918U1UES5CXI8, respectively.

These updates are rolling out in the US, and if you haven't received them on your unlocked Galaxy S23/S23+/S23 Ultra, you can check for them manually by heading to the phone's Settings > Software update menu.

bundled and bolted into operating systems to reduce choice seems to be a never ending story, Microsoft have a serious disorder trying to release recall again

I bought mine from my carrier, but I am from Germany, so it is unlocked regardless AND I got a better deal because of it. It's just the US that still sucks in that regard

You may get a better deal with carrier locked phones. But overall you get updates later and you get carrier bloatware. That's a huge downside for me. I always buy unlocked global phones. You want a Samsung go buy from Samsung.
