Verizon finally jumps on the Samsung Pay bandwagon

Most of the major carriers in the US, including Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T, had announced back in August that they will support Samsung Pay at launch. Notably missing from that list was Verizon, which at that time said that it is currently evaluating the mobile payments service.

Samsung Pay will be supported on compatible Verizon smartphones (Galaxy S 6, S 6 edge, Note5, S6 edge +) through a future software update.

Now, over a week after Samsung Pay was launched in the country, the big red carrier has announced that it will support the service. However, there was no word on exactly when the support would roll out, although the company did say that it will be made available through a "future software update."

As for the compatible smartphones, Verizon said Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, Note5, and S6 edge+ on its network will get the aforementioned update whenever it is rolled out.

South Korea had 73% smartphone penetration in 2013, so it'd be way higher now. The Galaxy S6 sold at a daily rate of around 25k, so say that after a few months it should have reached several million, + the Note 5 which recently launched. ...

How is that not impressive when the payment is only doable with four phones and two of them are just announced? Give credit where credits due! That IS really impressive! Props to Samsung for making the best mobile payment solution.
