Viber gets dark mode on Android

On Tuesday, Viber tweeted about an update for the messaging app. Following Facebook Messenger’s enabling of Dark Mode, Viber is next up.
Walk on the dark side 🌃 Check out our new dark mode theme on Android! Save battery 🔋, protect your eyes 🙄, and keep the room dark when other people are trying to sleep.

Upon opening the app, you should see the notification right at the bottom of the chats list. The dark mode toggle can be found in the “More” tab > Settings > Appearance. If you don’t see the setting, make sure you are updated to the latest version of the app.
For those on iOS wondering about dark mode, Viber’s support Twitter handle @ViberHelp confirmed that it is coming in two weeks.

Currently, dark mode must be manually enabled in the settings if you wish to switch back and forth. When asked about it, @ViberHelp acknowledged the suggestion to be considered for a future app update.

Interesting. I had never heard of viber before this announcement. All of my friends and family use Whatsapp. Cool to know that there's another viable alternative out there.
