Vine is dead, long live Vine Camera

Yordan, 09 January 2017

We’ve already told you Twitter decided to pull the plug of Vine - its short video platform. And we also told you about its name change - Vine Camera. Now we know the crucial date - it is January 17.

Next Tuesday the app will be officially rebranded and the Vine network will shut down. This means you won’t be able to share your amazing or not so amazing looping videos to your Vine followers.

You will be able to post them only through your Twitter account. If you don’t like the idea, you can always just download the mp4 files to your Camera Roll and rewatch them from time to time.

Since Twitter’s decision to discontinue its factory for viral videos and laughs, the company focused their attention to Periscope - a livestream sub-platform that lets you share live videos.

According to another social media mogul Mark Zuckerberg people are more involved in video sharing than ever with the ability to capture live videos and to interact with their friends and followers so Twitter are just joining the ship.

Rest in peace, Vine. You were something.
