vivo X100 Ultra and X100s appear in first official image

The vivo X100 Pro arrived with a one-of-a-kind imaging experience, and we certainly loved what the company did with the phone that was launched in November 2023. Now, the company is working on two more X100 variants, each slightly different on its own.

A vivo X100 Ultra is on its way, as well as a vivo X100s, according to an official teaser shared widely on social media in China. The Ultra will bring a new camera alignment for the triple shooters, while the 100s will borrow the same design as the vanilla and Pro.

The picture was shared so much across Weibo that we weren't able to track its origin or find a high-res variant. Nevertheless, we can still see the X100 Ultra with a periscope camera, the Zeiss logo with T* coating for the lenses, and some writing on the rim, suggesting a 14 mm equivalent wide-angle shooter and an 85 mm equivalent telephoto cam. The vivo X100 Ultra is also expected to launch with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

The vivo X100s main difference from the current two phones is the new chipset. We expect a Dimensity 9300+ with a slightly more powerful major core – 3.4 GHz, instead of 3.25 GHz, according to benchmarks posted by a vivo executive.

The phones are just around the corner, and a launch date should be announced in the following days. Hopefully, vivo will bring the X100 Ultra and X100s to the international markets and not keep them bound in China.

And yet there are people here who always say that the headphone jack on smartphones is "outdated" and "irrelevant". If that's the case, then Sony wouldn't bother to put it back on the 2020 Xperia 1 Mk2 after two years of...

This is the last opportunity to put the audio jack on a top level phone. Cannot see connecting an external mike via non-rugged USB-C connector. When using built-in mike(s) you get 2nd class audio with top class video -- duh.

I want to add that a large effective diameter also produces blurrier background objects. No other smartphone camera (including main camera) would be able to make background objects look that blurry (when used at the same focus distance).
