vivo iQOO 12 series' 64 MP telephoto camera confirmed

Reports about a new iQOO 12 phone by vivo with a 64 MP telephoto camera emerged earlier this year, and today a reliable leakster confirmed it – we are looking at an OmniVision 64B sensor with 3x telephoto lens in front, as well as OIS.

The main camera will also have an OmniVision sensor – OV50H with 50 MP resolution and OIS, while the ultrawide-angle camera will feature a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor.

Digital Chat Station is usually correct with these kinds of early leaks, and we believe this one is also the real deal. vivo is not ready to reintroduce an iQOO with a periscope lens for the telephoto camera yet; the last time such phone came six generations ago when the iQOO 5 Pro 5G had an 8 MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

Nevertheless, bringing a 64 MP cam with OIS (which was surprisingly missing from the predecessor iQOO 11 Pro) is a big step forward. The iQOO brand was initially aimed at the gaming audience, but evolved into a series for power users. Combined with the new vivo V3 ISP the new installment series should finally enable a flagship camera experience for those.
