Android 13 originos 3 running on my iqoo 3. The best phone to keep for many year.

Tiny coz size is just 148.93MB and says Optimized system stability. No Android security patch update, still runs on Feb, 2023 patch. Maybe some core Vivo/iQOO apps got updated.

    Phone operates as usual, noticed no degradation in daily use.

      In India for 5G, we need only two bands as of now n28 and n78. Airtel pan India uses n78 (NSA). JIO pan India uses n28 & n78 (SA). I use JIO SIM in a metro city and hence my iQOO Z3 & Z5 catches the superior n78 band with 1 Gbps speeds. However the phone has no support for n28, which means in areas surrounded by thick walls or in basement where n78 cannot reach the phone it switches back to 4G+.

      And yes, when I switch on data, it first shows 4G+ and then switches to 5G in 3 secs.

Till yesterday I have been using their PD1964F_EX_A_6.70.47 software release, the last version based on Android 11 and April, 2022 security patch. Initially I was not very keen on Android 12 jump as all manufacturers faced major hiccups with the massive changes Google did with Android 12. So I waited for 10 months for iQOO to optimize Android 12 for their MonsterUI & FuntouchOS.

          I remember during launch they promised two Android updates and that iQOO 3 will be receiving Android security updates till February 2023. They indeed kept their promise. The OTA update was of massive 4.06GB size.

          After update:

          Model: I1927
          Android Version: 12
          Android security patch level: 01-Feb-2023
          Software Version: PD1964F_EX_A_8.70.38
          Compile Time: 04-Feb-2023

          After update, I noticed with this phone at least they have retained iQOO specific original MonsterUI overlay over Android rather than opting for Vivo's FuntouchOS. At least my iQOO Z3 & iQOO Z5 runs on FuntouchOS, I hardly noticed any change after this update apart from a new notification shade icon pack and the now famous green dot while using the cameras.

          I did hard factory reset before and after update, cleared cache and cleared all data. Good news, the phone seems to be as fast as it was on Android 11 with no extra battery drain either. All in all a well worth update which all should go for. And I believe this is the full and final software installment from iQOO on this phone.

When A12 first came, there were issues with trigger buttons not working and a few other bugs but they're fixed. Battery life was same before and after the update. More disappointing aspect of the update was how they did nothing with the update, no new UI or features or anything, if they didn't added the camera notification thing, I would have thought they just bumped the number of Android version from 11 to 12 in settings. They left this phone on their stupid iqoo ui instead of giving it funtouch 12, This phone works and looks the same in A12 as it did on A10 day 1 software, can't even install custom roms on it.

There is an improvement in smoothness though, it also got new extended ram feature and the green notification dot everytime a sensor like camera, mic is being used. Nothing else added or removed.

                              SP, 10 Jun 2022iQOO customer care informed that they are aware about the A... moreAfter all informative comments here about botched Android 12 on IQOO 3, I feel blessed that I took the decision to stick to Android 11.

                              I will wait for the next 6 months to observe how iQOO/ Vivo optimizes their FuntouchOS over A12 and is it worth the update.

Also their tech team is working on releasing a new update which will resolve these issues. If I need to downgrade to A11 I need to visit their service centres where they will do it for free. In dilemma if I should downgrade or wait for the new update ...

I too did a great mistake on upgrading to android 12.0. I think iQOO deliberately releasing updates to break the phone's performance in order to forcefully purchase their new smartphone. This company should be liable for this.

                                      It seems Google have done a huge revamp with their Android 12 which made this version slow by default. Such huge changes last time came with Android 5. Android 13 I believe will solve many of the inherent problems to Android 12 as Google will by then have a year of expereince with it.
