Would've bought it if it had USB 3.1.

RishiGuru, 19 May 2020Personally I will never vouch for this phone. Secondly, I a... moreYes, exactly! I never knew the Vivo Nex is still available in the market. Seems like a good phone for the price range too. And I guess, the OnePlus 7T or/and even the 7 has this USB 3.0. Some people really don't understand the basics and say "Hardcore Gaming" I mean if you are really such a big Hardcore gamer then why not get a PlayStation or Xbox for the same price and not a smartphone aside you.

JoelRaj-1002, 19 May 2020Are you sure the SD 865 SoC is so much worth than the SD 85... morePersonally I will never vouch for this phone. Secondly, I am not an avid gamer and not crazy about latest SoC implementations. This is the reason why I own a Vivo NEX (Vivo NEX S in China) and not this phone.

                              Vivo NEX:

                              1) Has OIS on rear camera module. I am not interested in selfie cameras. OIS no doubt
                              outperforms EIS.

                              2) NFC is useless in our country. NEX does not have it.

                              3) NEX has a mono speaker but perhaps the best mono speaker I have ever heard. Loud and deep and not at all tinny sounding. Stereo speakers are no doubt better.

                              4) NEX does not have high refresh rate 90/120Hz display as it was Vivo's flagship of 2018. I see it more of a disadvantage in terms higher battery power draw in these high refresh rate displays but maybe a more liquid smooth experience. No advantages in games.

                              5) Wireless charging: I am in this too much into this either. Wireless charging generates waste heat and heat is not good for the phone. So the same waste heat a wall charger can charge two times faster. Wireless is good for convenience though as no wires. NEX does not have it and i do not have wireless chargers. But then again if you want to have the best battery longevity buy a 5 watts (5V, 1A) wall charger and charge your phone overnight. With such monstrous 5000 maH batteries now-a-days expect 6 to 7 hours top-up from 0 to 100% with a 5 watt charger.

                              6) Only top tier brands provide USB 3.1 on their flagships. These small details is what separates them from the rest. My 2017 LG V30+ comes with USB 3.1. By 2018 NEX comes with USB 2.0.

                              7) NEX has audiophile grade audio quality through its 3.5 mm audio jack. A must for me. NEX has high end Cirrus Logic CS43199 dedicated DAC with three Analog Devices SSM6322 op-amps. Also supports native DSD playback. The NEX is through iQOO3 out of the water in this department.

I admit, these small details does matter in real day to day life. These is the reason why I choose to buy smartphones wisely rather than just looking at the spec sheet and omitting the finer details. More over I never buy new phones as prices are high. I bought the NEX at $319 when the launch price was $675. When the iQOO3 reaches the $250 price we can omit these caveats and jump for this phone as a total VFM.

Lacks USB 3.0 or 3.1- You may feel the pain, when you would fill up the free space, and you will be pushed to transfer 100 GB of your files to your computer or anything. Most importantly you'll see how awkward it'll be to transfer movies or data from your phone to computer or vice versa. The funniest thing is they have got a UFS 3.1 as memory and failed to put a USB 3.0 at least, which makes no sense!

RishiGuru, 18 May 2020This phone is targeted to gamers. Their first requirement i... moreAre you sure the SD 865 SoC is so much worth than the SD 855+ that you miss the basic and important features in a phone? In my point of view there ain't much difference between them unless you have got a 5g network, which is impossible for now at least in India. Then again- You gotta miss---
                                  1) OIS- An important feature if you wanna record or capture without blur or negligible blur.
Their EIS is not gonna outperform the OIS.
                                  2) NFC- It's kinda basic feature for this new era for hassle free connection and
communication. Be it metros or your headphone...
                                  3) Stereo Speaker- For better sound quality.
                                  4) 90/120Hz display- I agree games from your google play store is not gonna take advantage of this. But if you read a lot with your smartphone and scrolling- Then this feature is really good.
                                  5) Wireless charging- I am not too much into this either. You may say this has a 55w charger with 50 percent in 15 min. But again, what about the battery life?

I don't think it'll cost me much if I can wait for couple of seconds more for my games to load and if my GPU misses out the 10% of texture... Other than to miss out the most important and basic feature for the same cost, If you get what I mean.

JoelRaj-1002, 17 May 2020Well, everything looks quite impressive. But when you dig d... moreThis phone is targeted to gamers. Their first requirement is the best SoC in the market with good thermal management, everything else comes second. Considering the sky high price of SD865 this phone is a great VFM product. In India we can have it under $470. If you are looking for all rounders, look elsewhere. A OnePlus may fit your bill.

Xdrake, 23 Feb 2020Cause 1% of people as i know use those feature and they can... moreNot concerned about the battery life?

Well, everything looks quite impressive. But when you dig deep further. You will notice, this phone lacks OIS, USB 3.1 or 3.0 and NFC. So, wondering why not go for the same price for OnePlus 7T or Oppo Reno even Redmi K20 pro or K30 (If launched) or even Asus Rog phone II. Again we can also consider one more thing, which is - there won't be much differences in the SD 855, 855+ and 865 when you consider performance! So, which is the better value now???
