Hi All, I bought vivo v3 Max last Friday.. The available RAM is 2.14 gb without opening any app...!!. And I checked the default running apps total memory, it is around 400 mb..So total ~2.64 GB out of 3.6 GB..why it is so..? 1 GB is missing ????..

BBK brands Oppo & Vivo make huge marketing investments in popular events of the country. Vivo this year invested INR 100 crore to IPL, Oppo similarly to ICC cricket. Then they rope in super starts from film industry like Rithik Roshan for Oppo and Ranveer Singh for Vivo paying them huge amounts of money. All this tons of money are spend by their marketing departments to create buzz in consumer minds and to gain respect. But all these crores of rupees spend needs to get back to BBK with additional profits if the company wants to stay alive. So every Vivo or Oppo handset we purchase contains a large amount of donation to their marketing department expenses spent on global event sponsoring and paying flimstars. Hence their smartphones gets unjustifiably expensive.
Xiaomi, Lenovo and LeEco on the other hand follows different marketing strategy. They as of now only sells mobile online, they do not need spend money to erect an offline sales structure like Vivo or Oppo. They do not rope in any flimstars to gain popularity, and do not invest millions of dollars in sponsoring mega events. Hence they have very minimal marketing expenses. Thus their phones are much cheaper as we do not have to donate money for their marketing expenses.
And contrary to belief Oppo or Vivo do not provide better quality hardware than its Chinese sisters mentioned above. However to justify their hefty price any of their sales rep will say so.
Revealing the ultimate truth to end consumers I have this strange feeling this post is going get deleted soon as multiple Vivo sells reps will now get active and report this post as a spam. If it so happens at least we will be aware their are plenty of Vivo and Oppo sales reps who are actively trying to promote their models in GSMArena. Let's wait and see.

Read the comments against Vivo V1, V1Max, X5pro, Y51, X5Max in GSMArena and your conception will be Vivo makes crap phones at shit prices. However after owning X5Max & V1 and from my own personal experiences, I will say Vivo makes excellent smartphones. But yes their price in unjustifiably high compared to its Chinese sisters and Vivo do not do any android version upgrades even to flagships which is pathetic to say the least.
From your comments it is clear you do not have any personal experience with Lenovo Vibe X3. Once you own one you will find how good it is for its asking price. Regarding availability, all Chinese phones have limited regional availability, Vivo and Oppo are no exceptions.

funwithash, 29 Apr 2016Its individuals choice I came from note 3 Lenovo cameras ar... moreIt is true Lenovo produced some garbage in the past, but after their acquisition of Motorola the entire R&D had shifted to Motorola. Now Motorola designs both their products and also Lenovo branded ones. As such the Vibe X3 is designed by Motorola which gives it the unique Motorola-esque feel which I had with previous Moto X. I don't no if you have used a Vibe X3 or not but it screen is 1080p, perfectly legible, bright with colors a little dull but accurate. My X5Max with AMELOD display over-saturates the colors but the the screen is very bright.
As you rightly said... in the end it is all about personal taste, you want a slim phone go for V3max. Else if you are looking for a VFM product which equals V3max for product quality, provides superior sound quality, comes with dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, IR blaster etc go for Vibe X3.

Equivalent built quality of any Vivo device, beautiful looking well thought out practical design. Comes with sound quality capabilities which will blow the V3Max out of the window. All this at just INR 20K, then why the hell I should go for V3Max at INR 24K?
