      Update: Vivo X9 oreo beta has ended. Those who registered for the beta have now received what Vivo calls a "stable" version of FunTouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1.

      Those who did not register for the beta have not yet got the final upgrade. Vivo is requesting users to have patience while they iron out bugs and optimize it further. Couple of months perhaps. Obviously the V5 plus will get it too.

        X21s (V11/V11 Pro) is a lower cost, plastic bodied version of the X21 without the Hi-Fi DAC (instead using SD660 stock DAC from Qualcomm).

        Vivo can make great hardware, and good software. Funtouch OS is far better than Oppo's ColorOS.

I will not be surprised if Vivo stops providing OTA updates from Jan, 2019 on-wards.

          I have been using this phone for over a year and the sublime performance I got for this $200 device is more than enough. The product quality of X series phone like X9/ V5Plus is far superior than what the likely priced Xiaomi Note series or Lenovo have to offer.

            They might not give Android P because X9s based on SD65x series does not support P (Qualcomm limitation), so it won't make sense to give Android P to X9 (V5 Plus) and leave it out of the X9s series.

            Similarly, V7 series might get skipped because V7 and V5 series were launched almost in the same year, so there might be a headache to support both families.

            I read on some translated Russian website that from V9 series onwards the V series will get 2 major upgrades going forward. Time will tell the true story.

              What I meant to say is that unlike V9, V11 and V5 series, V7 series is a direct rebrand of Y series Vivo phones. So Vivo might "forget" about it in the next year and not give it Android P. But let's see?

If V7 came with a new feature which V5 Plus did not, it is because V7 is a newer model. If it does not have anything new nobody will be interested. This is how business goes.

                          Vivo is considering only particular models for new features and new firmwares even though other vivo mobiles (hardware) supports.i don't why.v5 plus does supports to very features in v7 plus but those features were excempted to those,i don't knw why?

                              XLR8R, 24 Oct 2018Update: Vivo is "considering" adding Jovi Assistant and upd... moreWow!!! Jovi will be a new thing to try, provided they do put it on the international variant of X9, the V5 Plus. Really hopeful to receive the Oreo update by Jan, 2019.

                              The general trend I have seen while using Vivo phones is they do provide software updates for 2 years which is fair enough. Jan, 2019 will complete 2 years for Vivo V5 Plus as it got released on Jan, 17

                                    All other things are nonsense. Of course every device has to get customized ROM with optimization for each and every update. Tons of SD625 support and run Oreo.
