vivo X100 series pioneers Dimensity 9300, X100 Pro brings 100mm Zeiss APO periscope
The flagship vivo X100 series is now official in China and it brings two phones – the X100 and the X100 Pro. These are the first phones announced with MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9300 chipset and they also come with impressive cameras highlighted by the X100 Pro’s Zeiss APO 100mm equivalent periscope Zeiss APO lens.
Both X100 phones feature curved 6.78-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED displays with 1260p resolution, 10bit colors and a 1-120Hz refresh rate. The panels can crank out up to 3,000 nits peak brightness and offer 2,160Hz PWM dimming for eye protection. There are built-in fingerprint readers as well as 32MP front-facing cameras housed inside a punch-hole cutout.
Around the back, the X100 Pro brings three 50MP shooters with a 1-inch type Sony IMX989 main sensor. The X100 Pro is equipped with the world’s first mobile telephoto lens certified by Zeiss APO. The apochromatically corrected zoom lens optics align green, blue and red colors into the same focus plane which should translate to improved clarity and less fringing at contrast edges. The new floating periscope module features an f/2.57 aperture and 100mm equivalent focal length with 4.3x optical and up to 100x digital zoom.
The third module is a 15mm equivalent ultrawide lens with f/2.0 aperture. All three lenses feature T* lens coating which claims to reduce reflectivity by 50% compared to the outgoing vivo X90 series. The X100 Pro also gets vivo’s latest 6nm V3 imaging chip which handles 4K movie portrait video recording and processing.
The X100 makes do with a custom 50MP IMX920 main sensor (f/1.57 aperture) which is paired with a 64MP 1/2” sensor telephoto with 3x zoom and OIS. The third shooter on the back is a 15mm equivalent 50MP ultrawide lens. All three cameras on the X100 also come with T* lens coating.
Both vivo X100 phones are configurable with up to 16GB LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. They boot the latest OriginOS 4 based on Android 14.
On the battery front, vivo X100 gets a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging while the X100 Pro gets a slightly larger 5,400 mAh cell with 100W charging support and 50W wireless fast charging. Both phones are also IP68 water and dust-resistant and come with IR blasters, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
vivo X100 and vivo X100 Pro are available in black, white, blue and orange colors. X100 starts at CNY 3,999 ($548) for the 12/256GB trim and tops out at CNY 5,099($700) for the option with 16GB LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB storage.
X100 Pro starts at CNY 4,999 ($685) for the 12/256GB trim and tops out at CNY 5,999 ($823) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage version.
Open sales in China start on November 21 while international pricing and availability will be detailed later on.

Like it or not, companies like these help the consumer; even those who don't buy from them. Higher specced hardware and lower prices keeps the considerably pricier market leaders from completely fleecing their customers as much they would like. ...

Normal flagship with 1TB at 800-900 euro, good enough. If they could bring such hw to fold it would be better, but seeing how some cannot even bring such hi specs to standard form factor, they still lead. Plus version will be cool tho, 200mp zoom,...
