vivo X70 and vivo X70 Pro bring improved cameras
vivo introduced the X70 series today in China, and the lineup consists of three phones - vivo X70, vivo X70 Pro, and vivo X70 Pro+. The first two are pretty similar, with the major difference being the number of cameras on the back.
The saying “if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it” was implemented by vivo in the display department, and both the vivo X70 and vivo X70 Pro come with a 6.56” AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate that is also found on their predeccessors - vivo X60 and vivo X60 Pro.
The same goes for the chipset on the X70 Pro which retains the Exynos 1080, while the vivo X70 now comes with a Dimensity 1200 by Mediatek.
The ZEISS-branded camera department is where the main upgrades are happening this year - vivo X70 has a triple shooter on the back - 40MP main, 12MP ultrawide and 12MP telephoto camer with 2x optical zoom. While these numbers seem like a downgrade from the vivo X60, the sensors in the back are actually newer and promise improved image quality.
The vivo X70 Pro has a 50MP main camera and identical 12MP ultrawide and 2x telephoto cameras. It gains a fourth camera with 8MP sensor and periscope lens with 5x optical zoom. This phone also comes with the custom vivo V1 ISP that should boost focusing speed and image quality.
Interestingly enough, despite the different resolutions, the two main cameras have the same IMX766V sensor by Sony. It has 50MP native resolution so we assume the vanilla is applying a permanent crop, likely to implement its advanced stabilization.
A definitive improvement in the X70 family is the battery - both the X70 and X70 Pro come with 44W fast charging, which is a first for a non-Plus device in the X portfolio. Battery capacity is respectively 4,400 mAh and 4,500 mAh.
The vivo X70 and vivo X70 Pro are already listed on the company website. The vanilla variant is offered in White, Black, or a Nebula gradient and its price start from CNY3,699. The first flash sale will take place in three weeks - September 30.
The Pro sibling is also available in these three colors, with prices starting from CNY4,299, but will hit the stores next Friday, September 17.
We should hear more about the vivo X70 and vivo X70 Pro's international availability tomorrow.

I know, but I see it takes sharp pics, so I guess binning with noise removal and some AI is better than just nice colors.

Actually I can imagine shooting with super wide, where I need to capture a lot detail, in this case are 20mp normal and 40mp+ quads ideal. Hi res 2x is also great, so is 4.4x, but a lot depends on processing, likes of Vivo get it beautifully, othe...
