Two weeks ago a vivo device bearing the V1921A model number passed through China's TENAA revealing its key specs. Now we learn that the phone will be announced as the vivo Z5 at a presentation held in Beijing on July 31.

A press invite details the launch date alongside the logo for the upcoming device. The Chinese company will present all the key features of the Z5 and give media members a chance to test out the device on July 31. While not much else is said, we can expect the phone to enter the ranks of vivo’s midrange offerings.

The phone is expected to come with a 6.38-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with an UD fingerprint reader. The back houses a triple camera setup with 48MP, 8MP and 2MP sensors. Under the hood, the Z5 will pack an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.3Ghz paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB storage.

The software department will feature Android 9 alongside vivo’s Funtouch OS. To cap things off the phone will come with a 4,420 mAh battery presumably with 18W fast charge support. All that is left now is to wait for the end of July to learn the pricing and availability of the Z5.

Another generic >6" phablet with generic midrange CPU, generic glass gradient design, generic camera setup and absolutely nothing to offer over every such generic phone released in past couple of months? Hmm, I'm "totally" "excited"
