The phone comes with a european charger (you can buy an adapter), but it also comes with a usb cable which will charge it as well. You can buy one of those AC/car USB combo chargers and it will work fine.

Battery life is considerably better than the VK2000 by the way. Phone is a definite improvement over the VK2000.

For those USA users that purchased this from www.wapzon.com, did it come with a car charger? I understand that I'll have to get a power converter to charge it at home.

Also, has anyone found a nice case or cover for it yet?

The motorola l7 is garbage not to say the vk2020 is the best out there but its better then the l7 size wise weight and even features it wins it sure beats the hell out of the l7 the only benefit of the l7 is a vga camera and we all know those are horrible anyway my advice 2 all is stop comparing it to the l7 just cause a key pad is laser etched doesent make it a copy of motorola and to anwser the the battery question i would stick with the decision i made buying the vk2020 even if the battery is not great if you use it it will die u can get a good day out of it as long as you set the settings to conserve power so the screen is off when not in use but its not that bad i hat the nec l1 its a goot thin phone 2 but the battery sucked its about the same as the vk2020 my opinion except for extreme excesive use and trust me i use it you can get 1 good day so charge it at night if you need more battery buy a car charger get a extra battery or bring your charger to work or where ever it is that you go its not great but its made for its size not its battery life if your looking for a battery life phone i suggest the treo i olmost never charged mine but its huge to each is own just stop bad mouthing things this site is for useful opinions not to make fun of phones and say there copys who is that helping honestly so all in all its a great phone has its problems but what phone doesent i like it thats my helpful opinion

My main concern is BATTERY LIFE. For those of you have it, if you would do it again, would you still have bought the VK2020? I was considering the VK2020 or the BenQ-Siemens S68. Small and Simple

Why buy this one? In my case the reason was "three millimeters thinner, almost half the size (volumetrically), and almost half the weight".

              1) Battery life is okay for me. I can have one n half day of standby time without using bluetooth. If using bluetooth than will less than that.
              2) Bluetooth connection will depend on brands of bluetooth handsfree. Like I'm using HBH-600 (SonyEricsson) with VK2020, it still connect to HBH-600 at 6 meter with 2 wall blocking. Connection lost when reach 8 meter with 3 wall blocking.

But all the above comment will be different to each user.

I haven't been able to get a precise sense of the battery life yet. But it's way shorter than my Ericsson T616, and I can guarantee you that it will last nowhere near a week on one charge. I'll post it when I have a better sense of the battery life.

I can't answer the headset detection distance question; I don't have a Bluetooth headset.

the phone is slim and packed with mp3, bluetooth and the usual stuff. i use it as a backup phone since i travel often. best part is that it's so unnoticable and light that i can finally stuff a phone in my shirt pocket without the feeling that i have a breast implant. heh heh

I just received this phone yesterday. I got it from Wapzon.com, too. Thanks to whoever posted that information here. I had to pay them through PayPal, but the shipment was unbelievably quick. (Three days from placing my order until the phone reached my hands.) Here are my initial impressions and unpleasant surprises:

I'm a US-based user, so I was expecting a few headaches when switching my existing Cingular cell phone account to this phone. Thanks to the modular magic of SIM cards, it didn't turn out that way. All I needed to do was switch the phone from its default 900/1800/1900 network band setting to the 850/1800/1900 setting. Took about 10 seconds. Getting the data functions to work was a little trickier. Doing some detective work on the data settings on my existing phone, I was able to replicate them on the VK2020 after some trial and error. Now that works fine, too (other than the unpleasant surprises below).

Now the phone works perfectly with my existing Cingular account including the voice mail indicator, the dedicated voice mail button, etc. (All things on which I was expecting incompatibility glitches, since the phone is not officially sold for the US.)

Let's talk about the unpleasant surprises:

                          * The Bluetooth feature on the phone does not allow me to use it to connect my PDA to the Internet. It seems that the "dial-up networking" service is not among the supported profiles in the Bluetooth functionality implemented on this phone. That was my most unpleasant shock. It's a big deal for me.

                          * The WAP browser of the phone is quite buggy. (See the next two bullet points.)

                          * The "Go To URL" feature simply doesn't work. It consistently locks up either the WAP browser or the entire phone every time you attempt it. There are limited ways of working around this. But it's a big and embarrassing error.

                          * The phone seems to fail any time what seems to be a "secure WAP page" is attempted to be accessed. I've been able to lock the phone up, crash the browser, and even reboot the whole phone in my attempts at doing this. This means "no Gmail through WAP". I haven't been able to find a workaround for this yet.

                          * The "PC Sync" software that comes with the phone did not work. It simply does not seem to see the phone. Even when I got a "phone detected" message and saw the beginnings of some initialization process, it still eventually came back and said "phone not connected".

To be fair, I should mention the pleasant surprises, too:

                          * The phone is tiny. I mean, unbelievably tiny. You initially find it hard to believe that it could really work. But it does! The pictures and dimension specs don't do it justice. It looks much smaller when you have it in your hand. If you had shown me the phone before I saw its specs and asked me to guess its thickness, I would have guessed 5 or 6 mm. In a shirt pocket or a jeans pocket, you simply cannot feel that it's there. Because, in addition to being so small, it's also extremely light, of course.

                          * The screen legibility under bright conditions is better than I expected. At least it's better than my two-year-old Ericsson T616.

                          * The battery is a lithium-polymer type. I've been noticing so many new cell phone models, even advanced ones, still using lithium ion. It may not be a big deal, but I think lithium polymer is still preferable.

                          * The sound quality and volume level of its speaker is impressive for its size. The audio quality of the voice calls is nothing to complain about either. Astounding for this size!

In the end, I had already given up a few features available to me in order to own this phone; namely, voice dialing and a camera. I've also had to give up my desire for a speakerphone feature. On top of those, when I realized I'll have to give up the use of my PDA to access the Internet over Bluetooth, it was an discouraging shock to me. I'll have to decide if I can live with that.

The striking thing is, the size of the phone given its existing features is so impressive that I'm seriously thinking of keeping it even without the Internet access through PDA capability. If the size of a cell phone is important to you, beware of this phone. It's tiny size is addictive! Once you experience it, it forces you to compromise on your requirements, because every other phone starts looking like a ridiculous brick.

I don't have any feedback on the battery life yet, since the phone is so new. More on that later...

Got my vk2020 from www.wapzon.com a few days ago. Cheapest price and it got to nyc from malasia in only 3 business days. The phone and manual is in english. However, the charger needs a converter (a few bucks at radioshack). The phone is awesome. My biggest complaint is that the rumored 1 gig memory is really 100mb. YEA THAT SUCKS. I kinda feel ripped off. I am not goin to return this phone as it is still is cool as hell.

I just got myself a unit of VK2020. The phone is great in term of the slim size. About the Voice memo...
                              Is wrong info from website.
                              VK2020 support only text memo.
                              The battery capacity is 740mAh....
As for a normal usage... battery can last for 1-2 days. But if you listen to MP3, than the battery will not last that long.
After using for 1 week, I can't see myself changing back to my old bulky phone.
                              Keep you all update....

This is the biggest rip off of the Motorola's SLVER phone gosh did VK Mobile run out of ideas so they take one already and think no one would notice.

                                      Hi,
a question for those who have this phone:
Is there really a voice memo feature?
because some sites say that it has memo vocal, and for some it doesn't...
so please, answer only if you have tested yourself.
                                      thank you
